Cognados - Cognates

cognates - words that look alike and

have similar meanings in English and Spanish

popular = popular

usar = to useguitarra = guitar

¿Cuál?

Which?¿Cómo?

How?

¿Quién(es)?

Who?

¿Dónde?

Where?

¿Cuándo?

When?

¿Adónde?

To where?

¿Por qué?

Why?

¿Cuánto(s)/as?

How many/much?

Question words in Spanish MUST have the accent mark.

Otherwise, they can mean something different. For

example, “como” means “like/as,” “que” can mean “that”

or “than,” and “porque” means “because.”
