““Prezzies for Pets” - Promotional Day, Saturday 15Prezzies for Pets” - Promotional Day, Saturday 15thth

December 2012December 2012To celebrate the 1st Anniversary of our new shop we have decided to give something back to our customers for their support throughout the year, so we have arranged for Santa & his Sleigh to be outside the shop to present gifts to the pets of our customers.Pet Stop have traded in the village for over 15 years and moved to the new larger premises last year when they purchased half of the Codsall Legionaires Working man’s club. The club has been a big part of the community for over 70 years and is again thriving thanks to successful business transaction carried out last year. The introduction of the Codsall Legion football team has made a big contribution to the success of the club of which Pet Stop is the main sponsor. We are expecting a big response to the “Prezzies for Pets promotion as I don’t think it has been done in this area before. We are going to provide an assortment of presents, but wouldn’t expect people to bring their pet snakes, but you never know. We shall also be giving presents & popcorn to the kids, not forgetting Mums & Dads we shall be offering Mulled Wine. There will be in store displays, with suppliers giving out samples etc. One of main Dog food companies “Berrimans” has put up for grabs 2 new mountain bikes for Christmas in a prize draw, which will be drawn by Santa at 3.00pm on the day. Pet Stop also have their own range of Premium dog food which is Wheat Gluten Free & contains no artificial Colours, Flavours and preservatives, prices start at £3.99 for 2.5kg & £19.99 for 15kg, again samples are available. The Sleigh is very kindly supplied by Tettenhall Round Table who on the day will be collecting for local charities.

Don’t miss out on what promises to be a great day at “Prezzies for Pets” at Pet Stop

Tips from Your Local PGA Proat Ledene Golf Centre

We are at that time of year when our thoughts are turning to the Christmas shopping.

“What Do You Buy For The Golfer In Your Life”So here are a few ideas that may help solve that dilemma and would be welcome on any Golfers Christmas List.1. GOLF RANGE FINDER-for the more serious golfer these prove

popular as they give you the exact distance from where your ball is to your intended target, so the golfer can choose the correct club for the yardage. I use the Bushnell range finder but the Garmin GPS wristwatch is also another suitable alternative.

2. GOLF LESSONS – whether you’re a total beginner or an established golfer. A golf lesson can prove to be invaluable. A beginner learns the basic fundamentals of a correct golf swing which sets you on the right path or as a more experienced player you can tweak your golf swing or work on areas of your game that you wish to improve upon.

3. GOLF ACCESSORIES – The list can be endless but good quality balls eg Srixon or Titleist are both popular brands. Golf gloves for general use and winter gloves are also available in pairs, these are essential for golfers who still play in cold weather making both choices a popular present and also relatively inexpensive.

4. GOLF CLUBS-When buying a golf club nowadays a lot of clubs are tailor made to suit the individual golfer (custom fitted), Whether its a driver or a putter make sure relevant information about the individual you are buying for is given eg height, handicap and age of the golfer.

5. GOLFING ATTIRE- every golfer likes to look smart so a jumper or a collared tee shirt would be appreciated ( also many clubs insist on smart casual wear to be worn ). If they are just starting out a pair of golf shoes will always be a handy present as would a waterproof suit be especially as our weather is so unpredictable!!

6. GOLF GIFT CARD –If you are still unsure what to buy, gift cards are available, choose any amount to suit your budget and the golfer gets to choose exactly what he/she wants.

I hope this has proven useful and given you a few ideas of what to buy as you try to decide what to get for a golfing partner or friend.Next month I will return to giving you tips that will help improve your golf swing and technique and hopefully begin to lower your score.I would finally like to wish “All Codsall Pages readers a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year” from everyone at Ledene Golf Centre and I look forward to seeing many of you practicing and playing golf at Ledene over the Christmas holidays.

A Word From Your MPAs this edition of Codsall Pages lands on your doorstep I am quite sure that all your time and thoughts will be very much occupied with the rapid approach of Christmas. It is certainly the occupation of the moment from where I am writing this. My diary is already bursting to the seams with activities and events filling every available space. This year there are hundreds of Christmas festivities taking place up and down Staffordshire. From Christmas lights being switched on, tree festivals taking place, and school celebrations and carol services South Staffordshire will leaving no stone unturned when it comes to preparing for and enjoying the Christmas period. One thing that I do always notice after the hustle and bustle of Christmas is that there is a very large post bag. People often turn to their Member of Parliament as a last resort and the winter months can be especially unforgiving. It is so important at this time of year to remember those who are perhaps not as fortunate as ourselves. We must think of those who are maybe living on their own or perhaps struggling to cope at a time when others are so very happy. However Christmas is still the most wonderful time of year for coming together and it is so rare that we get the chance to get together to celebrate and see the beating hearts of our villages that sometimes we need reminding is there. It will be fantastic to see everyone in Codsall come together with their families, friends and neighbours. I hope that you all have a wonderful Christmas and enjoy the festivities in the run up to the day itself.I would very much urge all of you to keep an eye out over the Christmas period for those who perhaps don’t have the fortune that others do and just see if they need any extra help. Please do not hesitate to get in touch with me if you think that I can be of assistance to you or to them. In the meantime I hope that you all have a very merry Christmas and a happy new year.
