Entry into CODESYS V3 and Berghof ControlsModule 1

Target Group

Application of this module

Project engineers, project managers, programmers and anyone wishing to become familiar with Berghof Controls and CODESYS V3.

Within small groups, you will learn e�ortlessly, and in a short time, the essential functions of the Berghof Controls as well as the basic elements of CODESYS V3. The focus is on the Structured Text programming lan-guage. In this way you can learn in a more intense way about the individual program functions. Within the framework of the course, you create a �rst sam-ple program based on the Berghof CODESYS PLC. In addition, you learn how to integrate on-board I/Os and use the EtherCAT bus. You will also become familiar with the basic functions of the CODESYS V3 visualisation. Each participant is given the opportunity to reconstruct all steps and recon�gure these via USB. To deepen the knowledge on CODESYS V3 and for addi-tional practical experience, Module 9 is available as an option.

Introducing Berghof Controls DC2000

Learn to understand the current generation of Berghof controls: Links, additional options and much more. Step by step, the configuration of Berghof Control and how to update this in the field by using a USB Stick. This allows each participant to comprehend all steps with the aid of a training device and re-configure it by using USB.

Introduction to CODESYS V3 Elaboration of CODESYS V3 key elements. In this training session, the focus is on the Structured Text programming language. In this way, you learn more about the individual programming functions. You create a first sample program and expand it.

Introduction to CODESYS V3 Visualis-ation (creation of non-complex HMIs)

The most important CODESYS V3 Target Visualisation elements are presented here. Since the training is focused on the basic visualisation elements, you learn about the functions of CODESYS HMI in a more intensive way. In this way, you can use HMI to create a sample program on a PLC and test different basic elements.

EtherCAT Bus System In this topic, you will learn about the basic function of the CODESYS V3 EtherCAT bus. In this regard, topics such as master parametrisation, adjoining of slaves, and handling of optional modules are introduced are addressed. You create your sample program on a PLC and expand it successively.

Application of this module

Project engineers, project managers, programmers and anyone wishing to become familiar with CODESYS V3.

Learn within a small group and in a short time the key func-tions of CODESYS V3 without the use of Berghof PLC. The focus is on the Structured Text programming language. Thus, you can learn more about all program functions. With the CODESYS WinPLC you create a �rst sample program and practice the functions of the CODESYS V3 visualization systematically and from the bottom up. This allows each participant to comprehend all parts of the program step by step with the aid of a training device. Following this training session, an optional Module 9 is available to learn more about CODE-SYS V3 and gain further practical experience of great importance.

Introduction to CODESYS V3 Here, you quickly learn about the most important elements of CODESYS V3 within a reason-ably-sized group. In this training, we focus on the Structured Text programming language, so that you can practise its individual functions more intensively. You create a first sample program on a PLC and expand it accordingly.

CODESYS V3 Visualisation Basic In this subject, you learn the essential visualisation elements of the CODESYS V3 Target Visualisation. During this training module, you work out the basic visualisation elements allowing you to go deeper into the CODESYS HMI functions.

CODESYS V3 Visualisation Advanced Building on the subject of Basic, you quickly learn about the extended and more complex visualisation elements of CODESYS V3 Target Visualisation. Step by step, you design a sample visualisation as the basis for complex HMI tasks. Next to topics such as alarm han-dling or trend display, the handling of frames are presented to enable creating extremely versatile HMIs.

CODESYS V3 Visualisation WebVisu The most important CODESYS V3 Web Visualisation settings are presented here. The emphasis is on the basic settings and displaying a CODESYS V3 HMI on PC, tablet or smartphone. This training session complements the CODESYS V3 Visualisation Basic and CODESYS V3 Visualisation Advanced courses. For testing the self-created HMIs, having your own smartphone or tablet is an advantage.

CODESYS V3 Field-busesModule 3

Target Group

Application of this module

Project engineers, project managers and so�ware devel-opers wishing to know a selection of well-known �eld-bus systems supported by CODESYS V3.

In a small group of participants, you quickly learn the basic functions and usage of the familiar �eld buses in CODESYS V3. This course is also focused on integrating one or more �eld buses in a CODESYS V3 project, indi-vidual con�guration of �eld-buses and the use of slaves, i.e. bus subscribers. We are focused in our training on the Structured Text programming language to enable you to get to know the di�erent program functions more intensively. You create a sample program based on a control and expand it accordingly.

Topics Description

EtherCAT Bus System Discover the CODESYS V3 EtherCAT bus basic function. The course covers topics such as parametrising the master, attaching slaves, dealing with optional modules and querying the readiness of a bus.

ModBus RTU/TCP Within this topic, you work out the basic ModBus protocol function of the CODESYS V3. Fur-thermore, topics such as master/client parametrisation, attaching slaves and the handling of optional modules are introduced.

ProfiNET Bus System The learning objectives include the CODESYS V3 ProfiNet bus basic function. In addition, master parametrisation and integration of slaves are taught during this training module. Furthermore, supervision of masters and slaves is discussed.

CANOpen Bus System Introduction to the basic functions of CANopen in CODESYS V3. In addition, topics such as parametrising the CANopen master (manager), attaching slaves and handling optional modules are discussed.

Project engineers, project managers and so�ware devel-opers acquainted with the CODESYS V3 and wishing to get to know CODESYS V3 So�Motion.

This module presents the basic functions of CODESYS V3 So¢Motion and the con�guration of drives. The training also includes tasks such as motion of indi-vidual axes, application of electronic transmission and work with a cam disk. You are enabled to create and test sample programs on a CODESYS WinPLC So¢Motion. Following a general introduction, your knowledge is deepened by having the functions of the CODESYS V3 So¢Motion CNC presented. As an option, you can book an additional day to learn how real axes can be operated with CODESYS V3 So¢Motion.

Topics Description

SoftMotion Drive Configuration As an introduction, the interface between the IEC application and the drives, as well as the general configuration interface are explained.

SoftMotion Basic You learn about the basic functions of CODESYS V3 SoftMotion. Part of the training is dedicated to the movement of individual axes, the application of an electronic gear and the work with a cam disk.

SoftMotion Advanced This training comprises the advanced features of CODESYS V3 SoftMotion CNC. This is to explain e.g. how several axes can be moved in a multidimensional manner and which advantages the G-Code Editor brings.

Optional: Application of real axes with CODESYS V3 SoftMotion

As an optional course, you can become acquainted with Berghof's EtherCAT and CAN drives. Part of the topics are also the integration into CODESYS V3 SoftMotion as well as the configuration of the drives.

Berghof MotionModule 5

Target Group

Application of this module

Project engineers, project managers and so�ware devel-opers already familiar with the CODESYS V3 and feeling safe dealing with EtherCAT and CAN bus can learn in this module how their own drive applications can be developed.

Through this training program you get acquainted with the Berghof Motion library. You will learn how to control your drive by using PLCopen commands. All functions of the library are presented and can be tested based on a test set-up. Selected program examples provide sug-gestions for implementation and show possibilities for optimisation. This training requires knowledge of our parametrisation tool. If you are not yet familiar with the program, it is recommended to book a one-day prepara-tion course.

BGH Motion Basic Become familiar with the Berghof Motion library and how to use your PLCopen commands to All functions of the library are presented during the course. You can test what you have learned in a test set-up. Through various program examples you learn numerous sugges-tions for implementation and optimisation.

Power drives This course introduces several power drive controllers from the CDHD series. Devices must be configured with our parametrisation tool. Later, the control is done by means of the Berghof Motion Library using PLCopen commands. The CDHD-series power drives are controlled via EtherCAT.

Regulated stepping motors In this training unit, the StepIM-series controlled stepping motors are presented. Devices must be configured with our parametrisation tool. Later, the control is done by means of the Berghof Motion Library using PLCopen commands. The StepIM-series step motors are connected to the controller via a CAN bus.

Optional: Introduction to our para-metrisation tool and configuration of motors

The training can optionally be booked as one-day preparation training. Here you will learn more about our parametrisation tool and how to use it to configure, parametrise and opti-mise power drives and controlled step motors.

CODESYS V3 – CommunicationModule 6

Target Group

Application of this module

Project engineers, project managers and so�ware devel-opers acquainted with the CODESYS V3 and able to pro-gram in an IEC61131-3 programming language.

In a small group of participants, you will learn how to apply the CODESYS V3 functions to communicate via a network connection by using a serial interface. This is either done by using TCP/IP or UDP or by sending and receiving your own CAN bus messages via a CAN layer 2 library.

Serial Communication The subject of this training module is the application of the CODESYS V3 CAA SerialCom library as well as sending and receiving of data via a serial interface.

Network Communication (TCP/IP-UDP)

The course comprises the application of the CODESYS V3 CAA network library and herewith the creation of a client and server network.

CAN Layer 2 Programming Learn about programming a CAN interface by using CANBus Library on Layer 2. Through this training session, you are shown how to open, parametrise an used a CAN interface for sending and receiving. Based on the examples shown, you can follow the functionality and use of the different CAN bus functions step by step. A Berghof controller featuring a CAN bus is available for all tests.

Porting a CODESYS V2.3 Project into CODESYS V3Module 7

Project engineers, project managers and so�ware devel-opers acquainted with the CODESYS V2 and V3 and wish-ing to take over a V2.3 Project in V3.

During a course with few participants present, you will learn about converting a CODESYS V2.3 project to CODESYS V3 including the necessary measures for this type of porting. In the session, you can test everythingextensively on a Berghof PLC or CODESYS WinPLC.

In this way, creating more versatile and £exible program blocks and visualisations is encouraged. The course for the advanced shall deepen the practical application of object-oriented programming including visualisation. The training is focused on creating an application with visualisation taking into account inheritance, data encapsulation and polymorphism.

File & Folder For successful programming of CODESYS Controls, reading and writing files is always an important criterion. As an exercise, various files are stored on the control unit, USB and SD card and then read back again.

Alarming This course explains how the CODESYS V3 Alarm System works and how to use the visualisation elements.

Trending The training deals with the use of a data recorder in CODESYS V3 and the configuration of the so-called trend element before the use, as well as reading and storage of the values recorded.

User Management The training illuminates the CODESYS V3 built-in user management, which is easy to use with a CODESYS V3 visualisation to provide permissions for certain areas that not every operator should see.

USB-Update Berghof Controls support the so-called USB Update as a special art of configuration. This course is about preparation of a USB stick, so that control can be configured and updated.
