At 135 metres, the Coca-Cola London Eye is the world's tallest cantilevered observation wheel; a feat of design and engineering, it has become the modern symbol representing the capital and a global icon. The experience showcases breathtaking 360-degree views of the capital and its famous landmarks and has been the number one visitor experience in the city for the past decade. You task while having fun! Design your capsule Task 1: Following your trip to The London Eye, you will be asked to complete your questionnaires with members of the public. You should complete questionnaires with their respondents away from the exit of The London Eye (for safety reasons). The area around the tension base of The London Eye is the preferred location for this exercise. Work in small groups and attempt to match the 6Rs to their correct definition using Worksheet 1. You are encouraged to consider why you think this is relevant in the 21st century. Learning Objectives: Be able to analyse information gained from research Understand the 6Rs (Re-think, Re-use, Recycle, Repair, Reduce, Refuse) and be able to apply them to real life products Task 2: Working in your appointed groups you should work together to design your London eye capsule based on the brief and information you gathered from task 1. You should convert your 2D sketches to isometric drawings if you have time. Task 3:

Client presentation.

You will have five minute slot to deliver your presentations to the rest of the

class (CLIENT). At the end of the presentation you are listening to, as client

you have to give feedback. Presentations should be marked using the

Worksheet 2: Scoring sheet and scored according to whether the team

successfully met and answered the brief.

Task 4:

Self evaluation

Following feedback from your classmates, you will be encouraged to compare

your final designs to your design brief and specifications – thinking about the

project outcomes, strengths and weaknesses. You should then suggest areas

for improvement and accordingly fill up Worksheet 3: Self evaluation. We will

discuss all the tasks in class once all complete.

peoples’ opinions can improve design work

Develop teamwork and use these skills to organise a presentation
