The Sport and Physical Activity Strategy for the area is currently under review, after a successful three years in existence. The updated Sport
and Physical Activity Strategy will take account of new National, Regional and Area targets for sport and physical activity. These are driven
by the Scottish Government through agencies such as sportscotland, NHS Scotland, Community Planning Partnerships and the Single
Outcome Agreements for Local Councils.
Our six main aims remain – Get More People More Active – Encourage more and responsible use of our unique environment for sport –
Raise the quality of sports coaching and success for atheletes – encourage volunteers in sport through training – use sport to tackle social
