Moving doesn’t need to be stressful but planning is important.use our handy timeline to help remind you of key considerations.

1 MONTH BEFORE Agree your move date with CMR Relocation Notify utility providers of your move

Electric Gas Telephone TV Internet Pre-arrange delivery of packing crates if self packing Book time off work around your move date Decide where children and pets will be on move day

1 - 2 WEEKS BEFORE Update CMR Relocation Enquire about moving aerial, satellite dishes and broadband options. Reduce contents of your freezer and fridge Arrange a box of essentials you will want close to hand Pay local bills eg milkman, newsagents, and gardeners Consider if you need to book in a cleaner or a handyman Make sure you have all the keys available for your current property

– windows, side gates, garage etc

1 DAY BEFORE Agree a completion time to collect the keys Keep clothing and toiletries separate for the next day

MOVING DAY Keep all personal and valuable possessions with you Take all meter readings Leave any operating instructions for the central heating Turn off all relevant utilities Ensure each room including loft, shed, cubby holes are thoroughly empty before you leave On arrival at your new home take new meter readings Check you have all the keys for the doors, sheds, doors
