Hello Members and welcome to the April/May edition of ClubChat.

As you are probably already aware, The Waves was recently named Club of the Year for 2018 at the recent Keno and Clubs Queensland Awards for Excellence. Complimenting this award, five other prestigious awards were also bestowed on our club (see page 3) including our eighth consecutive award for Best Club Wide Bay and Club Director of the Year won by club President, Gary Black. During my time with The Waves I’ve experienced many-a-proud moment, however few have been as significant as receiving the Club of the Year award and it is with sincere gratitude that I thank you, the members of The Waves, our staff, management, and Management Committee for making this all possible.

Moving on, congratulations is again in order for our 2017 Bursary Program winners (page 4). These fifteen staff took out prizes for best

in customer service, attitude and behaviour, teamwork and excellence in performance. Well done to all, with special mention to Katie Mason from our Rock Salt Bistro Bar, who won first prize.

Some massive events are coming up in this edition, including the terrific ticketed show, Lady Gaga (page 5), Mother’s Day (page 7), BAM! Showcase (page 8) and State of Origin (page 14). All four of these main events will be incredible to attend.

Lastly, it’s exciting to announce the all new Saturday promotion on page 11 which we partner with Travel & Cruise Bundaberg to present our members with. This Travel & Cruise Bundaberg Saturday Mega Spin promotion now offers all new minor prizes, as well as a $1,000 travel voucher as top prize.

8. On Sunday, June 3 The Waves will once again host its annual Castagne Night. This terrific family event will be free for anyone to attend and all are welcome.
