During Presidential year he has received more than 5 Rotary International Awards and many District Awards also many awards from various clubs too. Recipient of “Son of the Soil” Award from Gandhi Seva Trust, Ooty and many awards from Society.After he becoming the Successful Club President he worked in every Governors team, Convener of the District Assembly in 2010. Convener of RI Presidential TRF Dinner in 2012, Convener of RI President Elect TRF seminar in 2013.In 2011-12 he becomes the Avenue Chair for TRF Support under the leadership of Governor Vijay Jalan. Ian H.S. Riseley is a chartered accountant and principal of Ian Riseley and Co., a firm he

established in 1976. Prior to starting his own firm, he worked in the audit and

management consulting divisions of large accounting firms and corporations. His firm

specializes in income tax and management advice for individuals and small businesses.

He has a master's degree in taxation law and graduate diplomas in accounting and

income tax.Riseley has been a member of the boards of both a private and a public school, a member of the Community Advisory Group for the City of Sandringham, and involved in Sea Scouts and sporting groups, as well as honorary auditor or adviser for a number of

charitable organizations. Riseley's honors include the AusAID Peacebuilder Award from the Australian government in recognition of his work in East Timor, the Medal of the Order of Australia for services to the Australian community, the Distinguished Service Award and the Regional Service Award for a Polio-Free World from The Rotary Foundation. A Rotarian since 1978, Riseley has served as treasurer, director, Foundation trustee, and member and chair of numerous RI and Foundation committees.He and his wife, Juliet, a past district governor, are Major Donors and Bequest Society members of The Rotary Foundation. They live on seven hectares at Moorooduc, where they practice their personal philosophy of sustainable and organic living. They have two children and four grandchildren.

In last 6 decades your club has served the community in variety of ways and has exhibited true spirit of Rotary. Some of your projects like Cataract Operations, Trade Festivals and Art Festival, Jaipur Foot, Rotary Divyang Kendra have touched my heart.

Under your leadership, the club can really make a difference in local community. Your father Dawoodbhai was a great Rotarian who displayed the true values of Rotary and I am sure you will follow his footsteps.

Congratulations for being the President of the oldest club of 3142 in Star Year. The Vision of 2017-18 is “Every citizen of our District 3142 is either the Beneficiary or Donor.” Yes our focus is to reach every citizen of our District through our service projects with our magic touch. As our Star Theme goes ROTARY MAKING A DIFFERENCE. We are here to serve the community and to make the difference in their life, Let us all give the best of our Ability, Resources and Knowledge to the community.Plan a large project with the support of Rotary Foundation by applying for Matching Grant. After the global grant you can ask the Club members to contribute their own funds to the Rotary Foundation.Our RI president Ian Riseley's concern is Environment, he expect every member should plant atleast one tree from

st nd1 July, 2017 to 22 April, 2018. 22nd April is Earth Day. He expects atleast 1.2 Million new trees to be planted which will bring lot of Environmental benefits. We are fortunate our Dist. alone is planning to plant 1.2 Million saplings.Plan & Execute Projects of District and Rotary International Thrust Areas by involving Club Members and District Team. Rtn Yakub Bhetasiwala is Son of our Past President Late Dawoodbhai and Past President of Innerwheel club Shirin Bhetasiwala. Rotary runs in Yakub's blood and Bhetasiwala Family including his Brother Huzefa. Dawoodbhai has carried out more than 3000 Free Cataract Eye Operations in his life time. His goal was to give vision back to the needy people. Dawoodbhai shall be always remembered for his Selfless Service to Community.Following on the footsteps of his father, we have Yakub, ex Rotaractor, a very sincere & dedicated Rotarian. Yakub Completed his Instrumentation Engineering from Watumull Institute, University of Bombay, Mumbai and then did his MBA in Finance. Yakub started his career as Project Engineer at Yokogawa Ltd, a leading Japanese Company in the Field of Process & Distributed Control System in Bangalore. Later he worked as Marketing Engineer in Omron-Japan (ICA) for Mumbai Region providing PLC and Factory Automation Solutions. This was the stepping stone for a born entrepreneur to start his own company as Sharon Controls India Pvt Ltd (SME Unit in Dombivli MIDC) in July 2003 with his wife Rtn Hycenth who is also an Instrumentation Engineer and MBA in Marketing. Today Sharon Controls has collaborations and association with Japanese Company like PATLITE and OPTEX. Also, BANNER a USA based Company. Sharon Controls provides High Quality Automation Products and Solutions for Industrial & Factory Automation to various industrial Sectors like Automotive, Iron & Steel, Pharma & Medicine, Food and Packing, etc across India. Sharon Controls Displays their innovations and technology at International Automation Expo every year in Mumbai.

Introduction of our Star PresidentYakub has delivered many presentations on Factory Automation at various business meet & forums in Singapore, Thailand, Germany, Korea and Japan. Though Yakub is involved in Rotary since his childhood, he become Rotarian In Sep 2011 and served Kalyan Club as Service Week Director in 13-14, International Director in 14-15 and Club Secretary in Year 15-16. He is a Paul Harris Fellow. Yakub has successfully carried out various projects for community, especially Cataract Eye Operation in Memory of Late PP Rtn Dawoodbhai. Yakub and Hycenth always feels connected and involved in Rotary with their active participation in all Rotary Projects. During his National or International Travel, Yakub always makes point to visit local Rotary Clubs, make fellowship with International Rotarians. In 2016. Yakub and Hycenth visited Rotary International Convention in Korea representing Rotary Club of Kalyan at RI Convention. Yakub has completed his Level-3 of Graduation at RLI i.e, Rotary Leadership Institute and he is now qualified faculty member at RLI.Yakub likes travelling and he is a foodie. He enjoys cooking Indian and International cuisine. His favorite food as Chef is Oriental, South East Asian and South Indian Food.

Star President’s MessageFirst, I would like to Congratulate our outgoing President Rtn Dilip, Secretary Chandrakant and entire Rotary team

for a fantastic year and many landmark Projects. We now have permanent center for our flagship project of

Artificial Limb as Rotary Divyang Kendra in Kalyan. Dilip's passion and dedication has taken our Club to newer

heights obviously making it very challenging for me to take this forward. But Friends I promise and assure you that

I shall do my best and our Club will shine in the Rotary Galaxy.I joined Rotary Club of Kalyan in Sep 2011, but I knew Rotary since my father Late Dawoodbhai's active days in

Rotary, my mother Shirin who is still actively associated with Inner Wheel Club of Kalyan and myself when I was a

Rotaractor. I joined Rotary because my family always believed that Rotary is an organization that could reach out

to the disadvantaged and to do good for the benefit of the community at large.Through the years I have made great friends in Rotary both within India and aboard but most importantly in my

Club and my Dist 3142. The value of friendship gives me utmost joy and happiness. I will certainly recommend

Rotary as an International body of persons of all color and creed under common platform for a common cause

“Doing Good in the World”. And now to be President of Rotary Club of Kalyan is indeed a matter of pride. Rotary Club of Kalyan has great history. It has served and carried out various community based projects in and

around Kalyan for more than Six decades i.e. since 1956, oldest club in Dist 3142. All Rotarians believe in motto

“Service Above Service”. My father Dawoodbhai served as President in 1998-99 and now after 19 years it's my

great honor and privilege to serve this prestigious club as President. I would like to thank my fellow Rotarians for

considering me for this post as Club President and I have unconditional support from my Mother Shirin and my

wife Rtn Hycenth. Special thanks to both of them.The Journey in making or grooming of President in me was very exciting. Credit goes to fellow Rotarians of my

Club and District Team lead by Governor B M Sivarraj and District Trainer PDG Dr Ulhas Kolhatar for extensive

training program right from President Elect Meetings to Pre-PETs to MD PETs. This last one & half year of

training has made me ready to shoulder responsibilities, manage time and resources to perform to the best of my

potential. I would like to compliment First Lady Rtn Hycenth for joining me for each and every Training Programs

arranged by District. What are my objectives as the Club's President?The first, is to strengthen the bonding, fellowship amongst member of our club including spouse and kids. We

have good balance of young and senior members, now we need to capitalize and strengthen our Club

membership by inviting more people to join our hands in Rotary. Greater numbers carries greater chances of

success.Secondly, the Club should look at need based projects. The Club must stay relevant to its immediate

environment. As they say the Club should “build a bridge across communities”. It means getting involved in

community projects and for their benefit. This is how Rotary Clubs entrench itself to the community and become

part of it. Rotary Club of Kalyan will take up the challenge by RI President Ian H S Raisely's – Rotary : Making the

Difference. Finally, the Club must seek out the younger generation whether within the Club or in the community and infuse

them with Rotary ideas. The Club should involve the young and give them a taste of and experience of community

work, bonding and simply serving together.I have discussed and listed various projects that our club intends to do in the coming year. Some of them are my

dream projects; with support and cooperation of my fellow Rotarians I will follow the dream. I am blessed to have

support of Past Presidents, Sr. members for their guidance and encouragement. I am also sure that our team of

young Rotarians is eager to carry out project which our club will undertake this year.Once again I thank you all for the trust and confidence shown on me and I assure you that I shall put in my best

otary Club of Kalyan has started a permanent centre Rnamed 'Rotary Divyang Kendra' at Kalyan. A prosthetic limb centre for needy people who unfortunately lost their limb & hence hope.

This centre shall be run on purely no profit basis. We have installed latest equipment to manufacture best quality artificial legs. Artificial hands are provided in association with Allen Meadows Foundation USA.

Your support both financial and moral will help us make this centre a 'Kalpa Vriksha' for differently abled.

Projects of June 2017§ Rotary Divyang Kendra § Toilet at Padga School

Rotary Club of Kalyan Inaugurated Project of 2 toilet blocks for girls & boys on 16th June 2017 at 10.30 am by hands of our DG Dr. Chandrashekhar Kolvekar at Sharda Vidyalaya, Padagha. This school hosts 1700 students from 35 villages. Out of 1700 students 875 are girls.

We are thankful to all the members who participated & contributed in this project.

I express my sincere & heartfelt thanks to all my fellow Rotarians.Our Club carries many milestone projects like Happy School, Monsoon Picnic, Maha Kala Kumbh, Cyclothon, Toilet Block and now we have our permanent Rotary Divyang Kendra. All these projects were possible only because of active participation of all Rotarians.I am very happy, satisfied and now have very good memories during my tenure as President. I offer my best wishes to our Incoming President Rtn Yakub Bhetasiwala and his team.
