Having Problems With Your HP Printer? Call the

Doctor!

One of our Members after installing Windows 10 version

1803 , found the HP printer didn’t work.

Is there a fix?

Well there is hope just call HP Printer Doctor!

I have not heard of this option so with a bit of research I

found this help from the HP Website. I’ll quote from the

HP website

HP provides a free tool called HP Print and Scan Doctor to diagnose and resolve printing and scanning prob-lems. Download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor from this site https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c03286146 to quickly and automatically perform several troubleshoot-ing tasks. When this link is clicked, HP Print and Scan Doc-tor is downloaded using your Internet browser’s download capabilities.

NOTE:

HP Print and Scan Doctor 5.0 is compatible with Windows 7 and later operating systems. When downloading HP Print and Scan Doctor on a computer with Windows Vista or ear-lier, a message displays directing you to download version 4.9, which is similar.

The automatic solutions and instructions provided by HP

Print and Scan Doctor can be very effective for resolving

many types of printing and scanning problems. HP Print

and Scan Doctor is easy to use and comes with its own in-

structions.

Not owning a HP printer I not sure if this works but its

worth a try if you have a HP printer with problems.

Instructions from HP website below:

1. Run HPPSdr.exe from the download location on your computer.

2. Once HP Print and Scan Doctor is open, click Start, and then choose your printer.

If your printer is not listed, turn it on and click Retry.

If there is a connection problem, follow the instruc-tions in the tool.

Depending on the problem, click either Fix Printing or Fix

Scanning.

Test Your Internet Connection Speed Right From Your

Browser

If you’re paying for high-speed internet but you are not getting the speed you’re paying for…Or

if you’re having problems and think your internet connection seems slow…Or if you’re just the

kind who likes to know how fast your going… This tip is for you.

I have just learned about a Ad-free Chrome extension that lets you check your internet con-nection right from your browser, anytime you want. Plus, there are not annoying ads or tricky clicky tricks going on.

Speed test by Ookla is a browser extension for Chrome that lets you check your internet speed without visiting the Speed test site and without leaving the page you’re on.

With the Speed test extension, all I have to do is just click on the Ookla Speed test Chrome

extension and I can see how fast my download and upload speeds are — without leaving the

page I’m on.

If you frequently need or want to check your internet speed, and you use the Chrome brows-

er, then visit this page to get the Ookla Speedtest Chrome browser extension.

How to Install Photo Gallery and Movie Maker on Any Version of Win-dows 10

Many Members (including me) loved using Movie Maker and Photo Gallery when they were available from Microsoft. Unfortunately, Microsoft stopped offering Windows Live Essentials quite a while ago and there was no place from which you could download them that is until now.

If you still have Movie Maker and Photo Gallery on your computer then this is not for you. (By the way Movie Maker and Photo Gallery still work well in Windows 10 its just not supported by Microsoft).

However if you have purchased a new computer or have never installed Movie Maker and Photo Gallery, there is a answer.

One of the good things about the web is that there are archive sites that let you go back in time, and (sometimes) download software that may no longer available anywhere else.

Such a site is (Archive.org), from which you can download the Windows Live Essentials install-er. Using the installer, you can install Photo Gallery and Movie Maker on your Windows 10 computer.

I have tested both of them on Windows 10 version 1709 [Fall Creators Update] and on Windows 10 version 1803 [April 2018 Update] and am happy to report they both worked perfectly on Win-dows 10.

IMPORTANT: I only installed Photo Gallery and Movie Maker. Windows Live Mail is no longer supported and does not work with any Microsoft ad-dress (hotmail.com, msn.com, out-look.com, live.ca, live.com). Windows Messenger no longer works at all. Writer and OneDrive have updated versions so there is no point installing any of these programs. So… if you download Windows Live Essentials be sure you uncheck everything else but Photo Gallery and Movie Maker.

If you would like the (wlsetup-all.exe) executable then please contact me. Be patient it is a bit slow to load.
