Objectif Evaluer l’efficacité de la compression pneumatique

intermittente dans la prévention des thromboses veineuses profondes après un AVC

Etude - Etude multicentrique (94 centres en Grande-Bretagne),

randomisée, en parallèle, comparant la compression pneumatique intermittente à une prise en charge standard

Critères d’inclusion- Hospitalisation dans les 3 jours suivant un AVC- Patients alités, incapables de marcher sans aide

• Arrêt CPI si sortie de l’hôpital, récupération de la marche, effets secondaires nécessitant l’arrêt

• Doppler entre J7 et J10 et, si possible, entre J25 et J30, en aveugle du traitement• Questionnaire à 24 semaines

Conclusion

La compression pneumatique intermittente réduit le risque de thrombose veineuse profonde et pourrait améliorer la survie des patients non mobiles après un AVC
