April and May: Get Your Tests On!
Since April is the month for testing, the CGB students will be busy, busy, busy! The Juniors will be tak-
ing the ACT in Mr. Farwell’s room on April 28, then they will be taking MCA Math in the Windows Lab on
April 30 and May 1. Starting this year, the students are able to take the ACT during the school day and not
have to pay for it!
The Sophomores will be taking MCA Reading test in the Windows Lab on April 28 and 29. May 7 is
the day they will be taking the MCA Science test.
The Freshmen have the joy of not testing this year, but the 8th graders can’t say that! Eighth graders will
be in the Maui Lab for MCA Reading on April 28 and 29, and on May 5 and 6, they will be tak-
ing the MCA Math test!
Lastly, the seventh graders test on May 1, 5 and 6. On May 1, they will be testing on the
MCA Reading and on May 5 and 6, they will be testing on MCA Math! Good Luck to all the
grades that are testing!

Superiors and Excellents All Day Long!
Solo/Ensemble Contest was held yesterday at the Morris school. There were
27 entrants and several earned Superiors. Guys Group of Paul, Tanner, Matt, Bobby,
Erick and Casey sang a Civil War-inspired song entitled “Tell My Father” and earned
a Superior with a perfect score of 40, earning them “Best in Site.” There were three
girl triple trios and each of them earned an Excellent rating. The Show Choir got a
Superior rating. Duets by Paul and Morgan and Jessaline and Julianne along with a
solo by Paul all earned Superiors and “Best in Site Honorable Mention.” There were
a few band solos that did well also.
Of the four band students who attended
contest, Paul (trumpet), Jessaline (flute), and
Jada (flute) all earned superiors with there solos
and Mackenzie earned an excellent, missing a

This week’s senior of the week is Mason Pullis! Mason has been a participant in wres-
tling and golf for many years. He is also very artistic. His plans for after high school is to go up
and chill in Alexandria.
I am best known for… “Ho Ho”ing.
One of my favorite high school memories was… Lights out on Mr. Stotesbery.
Being a senior finally makes me feel… Like I want to get out of here.
I will miss… Some of my friends and the memories we made.
I won’t miss… Some of the people who have given me a hard time throughout my underclass years.
Advice for underclassmen… Don’t worry about what people are doing and never let anything get in your way.
Furious 7 By: Jacey Douglas
Furious 7 came out April 3 of last week. It seems
like everyone has been going to
it! It will more than likely be the
last of the Fast and Furious se-
ries since Paul Walker passed
away during the filming of this
one. It is rated PG-13 so if
you're not 13, bring a parent!
The movie is about
Deckard Shaw seeking revenge
against Dominic and his family
for the death of his brother. The
movie has a lot of action so it
will definitely keep you on your
feet!
It is 140 minutes long, so pee first!! It has the usu-
al cast too, so no major changes to make us big fans freak
out. If you are a car person, you have more than likely
seen all the movies. If you haven't, you should have a
movie day to catch up on them , then go to theaters and
see Furious 7! If you're not a car person, prepare to be
one! The cars in these movies are amazing. It’s in thea-
ters just about everywhere now.

There are two announcements from the counselor’s
office this week!
Seniors, you should take the time to fill out all of
the local scholarships you qualify for. You are
more likely to be awarded local dollars than
when you are competing against other students
on a statewide level.
The expected return date for Mrs. Wahl is
Monday, April 13, 2015. We have all missed
her and anxiously await her return!
