Most graduates work for pharmaceutical companies, contract research organizations (like PPD, INC Research, IQVIA, Chiltern etc.), clinical research service providers or clinical sites, enrolling clinical trial subjects. CURRICULUM Students typically apply in their sophomore year and start the program in their junior year. After admission, the program requires at least two years to complete. Clinical researchers oversee the development, oversight and management of clinical trials to answer specific questions about new medications, drugs, therapies and devices. They determine the safety and efficacy of these prior to approval for use in the market. This can take a variety of forms in day-to- day activities, from being in a business-like atmosphere where you work behind the scenes to working face-to-face with the study participants. Emphasis is placed on educating individuals to improve health outcomes and quality of life in diverse populations. DIVERSE FACULTY Faculty expertise includes clinical operations, monitoring, clinical research ethics, project management, pharmacotherapeutics, regulatory affairs, medical writing, biostatistics, drug safety and pharmacoepidemiology. Students who declare Pre-Clinical Research are not automatically admitted to the Clinical Research Program. Eligible students are required to apply in the spring before they start clinical research courses by completing an online application and submitting their resume, personal essay and a videotaped interview. To be eligible for application, students must have all but one of their prerequisite classes completed prior to the start of clinical research classes. Up to 50 students will be admitted to the program. Meeting the minimum requirements for application is not a guarantee of admission.
