Polar air masses are 40 degrees to 60degrees latitude. (air mass 1)

Arctic are 60 degrees to 90 degreeslatitude (air mass 1)

Warm Tropical are around 15 degrees

to 35 degrees latitude. (air mass 1) Air masses are named by arctic, polar,

tropical, or equatorial. When named,scientists can put to of these together tocreate a name.(air mass 1)

They are generally classified by wet,cool or dry. (air mass 2)

Air masses are born in a source regionwhere they take on their characteristic;moist temperature. (air mass 1)
