AN EVENING WITH AURTHOR
PIPER KERMAN
“ORANGE IS THE NEW
BLACK”CLIFTON PARK – An Evening with Author Piper Kerman, “Orange Is the New Black” - The Friends of the Clifton Park-Halfmoon Public Li-brary and the Clifton Park-Halfmoon Public Library are co-sponsoring an Evening with Author Piper Kerman on Mon., Sept. 22 at 7pm at the Library. Ms. Kerman wrote the #1 New York Times Best Seller, “Orange Is the New Black: My Year in a Women’s Prison”. With a career, boy-friend, and a loving family, Piper barely resembles the reckless young woman who delivered a suitcase of drug money ten years before. But that past has caught up with her. Convicted and sentenced to fteen months at the infamous federal cor-rectional facility in Danbury, CT, the well-heeled Smith College alumna is now an inmate. From her rst strip search to her nal release, Kerman learns to navigate this strange world with its
strictly enforced codes of behavior and arbitrary rules. This event is free and open to the public. Registration is REQUIRED to attend. To register visit www.cphlibrary.org then Calendar of Events or call the Library at 371-8622. Books will be avail-able for purchase at the program by The Open Door Book-store.
