– Protection of human lives

– What it looks like and what circumstances would call for it

• Police Control vs. School Control

– Will look different depending on level of emergency

• Parent Notification

– Will take place at some point, not necessarily right away.

Ensuring your children's safety is the first priority!

• What Parents can do to Assist in an Emergency

– Ensure emergency contact information is updated with school

– Avoid contacting school during an emergency, phone lines should be kept

open for communication with law enforcement and emergency services

– Avoid driving to the school, driveways should be kept clear for law

enforcement /emergency vehicles and operations

• Definition: a patient that misses or is more than 10 minutes

late to an appointment, or does not cancel or reschedule the

appointment early enough for the appointment to be booked

by another patient is a no show. A no show results in losing

a healthcare opportunity.

• MEDDAC Policy – MEDDAC Commanders No-Show Policy

• Our community lost $600,000 of healthcare in Fiscal Year

2013 (8,572 missed appointments)

• Use the automated reminder system and choose the option

to "CANCEL", be sure to confirm that you want to cancel

• Call (315) 772-APPT (772-2778), 24 hours a day, 7 days a

week to cancel

• Patients that use the automated reminder system or leave a

cancellation message overnight. These cancellations are

NOT considered same day cancellations

• Primary Care appointments made on TRICARE Online can

be cancelled using http://www.TRICAREonline.com

– Used by 90% of healthcare plans to measure performance on

important dimensions of care and services

– Consists of 80 measures across 5 domains of care

– Promote a healthier population through patient educating

– Actions through proactive intervention, via telephonic contact,

secure messaging, and pre-visit scrub

– Multi-faceted, interdisciplinary approach that encourages

collaboration between patient, provider, and healthcare team

• Well-woman exam: 18+ annually

• Cervical cancer testing: age 21-65 every 3 years*

• Chlamydia screening: sexually active non-pregnant

females age 24 and younger: annually

• Breast cancer screening/education: all women are

counseled on screening at annual visit, recommends

screening every 2 yrs; age 50-74

• Comprehensive diabetes care: after diagnosis, 2x/yr with

control, 3x/yr without control (A1c <= 7)

• Colorectal cancer screening: ages 50-75

• BMI continuous screening

• Well exams will be done at Guthrie Clinic, Connor Troop

Clinic, or Fort Drum OB/GYN (located in Samaritan Medical

Center) on an appointment base with the exception of

Mammogram and Colonoscopy

• Mammograms and Colonoscopies require a written order

from your PCM and are conducted by in-network off post

providers

• Make appointment with PCM by phone at 315-772-2778,

TriCare Online at www.tricareonline.com, or by emailing

your PCM directly through Secure Messaging Service

(SMS)

• Please contact your PCM and team for questions regarding

any healthy checks applicable to your age range
