A Busy Spring!Carol Vanderkolk, Kindergarten Teacher

Getting ready for our kindergartencowboy program was quite a pro-cess. We first learned about farms, farm animals and farm equipment. We then read more about ranches, rodeos, cowboys, and what cow-boys and cowgirls wear. Welearned some cowboy songs, routines and dances. We pre-sented their program to parentsand grandparents, and everyone performed wonderfully!

The next week we went on a field trip. The Nature Cen-ter at Pioneers Park allowed us to see and sometimestouch animls we learned about this spring. We got to seeeven more birds, reptiles, and other animals at Pet Smart. Our visits to Godfathers and Russ Bakery let us seehow businesses make the foods they sell, and we got tosample them too! At the State Capitol Building we gotto view the city of Lincoln from the top floor observa-tory. Antelope Park was a great place to eat our lunchand get some good exercise. It was a very fun day!

We have had some great times in kin-dergarten and learned lots of things. thestudents should all be proud of them-selves, as everyone is reading booksand writing sentences! Thanks somuch to all parents for their sup-port from home this year.
