Graduation Requirements

56 required credits (weeks) Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Medicine,

Subinternship in Critical Care (formerly Med II), Neurology ObGyn, Pediatrics, Primary Care, Psychiatry, Surgery, Surgical Subspecialties

20 elective credits (weeks) – 8 hands-on

Step 2 CK and CS 2CS by December 31, 2016 2CK February 1, 2017

What’s new in 2015?

Med I is 8 weeks Prescheduled with student preferences Options for trades prior to Lottery

Only scheduling through Period 2 of Yr 4 during Spring process

After first 2 rounds, you will be registering for clerkship, but not site (DU v TC) Exception: Period 1 & 2 of Yr 3 In electives scheduling, sites will always be visible

There will be a 2 week delay between scheduling requireds and electives

Med I

Due to change to 8 week course, scheduling separately

February 16 – request preferences Fall, Winter, Spring Location “Positive” or “negative” preferences

February 26 notification of Med I placement

March 2 finalization of Med I placements

Scheduling – “The Lottery"

March 9 & 10 Mar9, Rounds 1 & 2 Mar10, Rounds 3-6 Mar11 if necessary

10 groups of students 8 minutes per round Select 1 required course per round

--Schedule reviews and modifications--

Second Lottery March 30 to select elective courses

What about RPAP/MetroPAP and VALUE?

Scheduled into required rotations prior to the Lottery RPAP/MetroPAP --- Med I + either OB or Pediatrics

VALUE ---- OB or Pediatrics

Join the Lottery in final rounds of requiredsscheduling for Period 2 of MS4 year

Join the Lottery after 2-3 rounds for electives scheduling
