Veterinary External Fixation AcrylicAcryl ™
Clean & EasyAcrylic Fixator SystemIdeal for avian, exotics, feline, toy breeds and mandibular fractures
Acrylx™ ( e kril ex ) is a methacrylate based composite resin designed to simplify construction of pin
and acrylic external fixators on toy breeds, avian, feline, exotics and mandibular fractures. Unlike
other commonly used products, Acrylx™ has minimal odor and does not require pre-mixing before
application. Acrylx™ is near-radiolucent while providing abrasion resistance and high strength.
Two resin components are supplied in a single divided cartridge and applied using a custom mixing
gun. The resin components are blended as they pass through disposable mixing tips for a clean and
quick delivery.

Long-eared Owl Teaching Case
A single cartridge provides 50ml of mixed product – enough material to
construct several small patient frames. Maximum shelf-life is maintained by
refrigerated storage but not required. If refrigerated, it is recommended to
allow the cartridge to reach room temperature before use as not to alter
setting characteristics. An 8-12 minute set time is typical. Each cartridge
purchase includes five yellow and five pink mixing tips.
The custom applicator gun readily accepts the divided Acrylx™ cartridge, is
easy to control, durable and should last many years under normal use.

Mixing Tips & Accessory Pack
Acrylx™ is most commonly applied using thin-wall tubing as a mold. Two
tube diameters are available for use with small patients: 6mm and 10mm.
6mm tubing is easily filled directly using medium, large, or extra large mixing
tips. 10mm tubing utilizes an adapter plug which fits the mixing tip for a
clean and smooth fill. Large or extra large mixing tips are commonly used
with 10mm tubing.

Instructions | Quick and Simple Setup Push up the release lever at the rear of the gun and pull the plunger as far back as it will go.
Flip the cartridge lock into an up position and seat the cartridge in the gun. The notch in the base of the cartridge should face downward.
Close the cartridge lock by pushing downward.
Before affixing the mixing tip, remove the cap that seals the cartridge by twisting the cap counterclockwise and pulling it from the cartridge. Discard the cap.
Express approximately 1/4” of material directly from the cartridge onto a pad to ensure both components are flowing properly.
Affix the mixing tip by aligning the small triangle on the colored base of the tip with the corresponding notch in the cartridge. Seat the tip fully and lock in place by rotating the tip’s colored base clockwise. Apply Acrylx as desired.
When application is complete, leave the used tip in place to protect unused portions of resin residing in the cartridge. At next use, replace with a new tip and begin process at step 4.
To remove the cartridge, push up the release lever and pull the black plunger as far back as it will go. Open the cartridge lock to release the cartridge.
IMPORTANT: Never use excessive force when expressing material. Doing so may damage the gun, rupture the cartridge or cause the rear of the cartridge to leak. If the material does not flow easily, remove the tip and use a wire or needle to remove any set material clogging the cartridge orifices. Attach new tip.
NOTE: This cartridge gun is designed for 1:1 ratio, split cartridges. The cartridges feature a gap between the two barrels.
