CLASSICAL MUSIC ROCKS CHAMBER MUSIC FESTIVAL 2021 ~ PRINCESS THEATRE, HUNSTANTON ~ SUNDAYS at 2pm ~ ( A covid safe venue, with social distancing , face masks required) CLASSICAL MUSIC ROCKS is a Charity - No 1185672 - dedicated to bringing classical music to children in West Norfolk. It is run by volunteers with no administration costs and is supported by private donors, West Norfolk Music Centre, the Norfolk Music Hub and the Prince of Wales Charitable Trust. Patrons: Louis de Bernières & Lord Bellingham In February 2021 CMR will be launching an exciting series of chamber music concerts involving eight of our talented musicians. We are very pleased that Brian Hallard and the Princess Theatre in Hunstanton are helping us to mount this series which we are hoping to be of great interest to a public starved of live music. Concerts will be lasting for an hour with no interval. Tickets are currently on sale online from the Princess Theatre Box Office: £10.00 for adults, under 18s £5.00 PROGRAMME 2021 7 th February ~ 2 pm The Leto Ensemble , Klio Blonz ~ Flute & Shelley Levy ~ Clarinet International players Klio and Shelley have been broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and tour in the UK and abroad. Klio is the Creative Director of CMR. Shelley has recorded a number of CDs gaining fa- vourable reviews in the “Gramophone” Magazine. Their programme, “Reflections”, is a playful dia- logue between the two instruments, with works by Mozart, Rutter, Beethoven and Villa Lobos, creating a world of rich colours and unique har- monies.

14t February ~ 2 pm Siobhain O’Higgins ~ Piano

21st February ~ 1 pm Anthony Flaum ~ Tenor

Siobhain is a renowned recitalist and soloist

who has performed with leading singers such as Catherine Backhouse, Elizabeth Watts and

Lee Bisset. She has performed in the Linbury Theatre, Royal Opera House and appeared on Channel 5.Siobhain’s programme will feature the music of

Rachmaninov, Schubert, Brahms and Gershwin. It will introduce the theme of Nature through music such as Debussy’s “Clair de Lune”. This could provide a gentle

escape from all thought of pandemics.

Anthony is a dynamic and exciting tenor who has performed in leading

roles with English National Opera, Scot-tish Opera, Northern Ireland Opera

and Grange Park. Also sings in major choral

works such as the Verdi Requiem. He will sing famous arias

from operas by Puccini, Verdi, Bizet & much loved

Neapolita favourites including La donna e mobile & O sole mio.

7th March ~ 2 pm Rebecca Hepplewhite ~ Cello

14th March ~ 2 pm Johan Lofving ~ Guitar & Theorbo

Rebecca performs internationally both as soloist and as a chamber musician.

She tours regularly in the United States and Hong

Kong. She has recorded a number of CDs which have received excellent reviews and has

appeared at the Wigmore Hall. Rebecca will be performing a compelling programme for solo cello, including the Bach

Cello Suite no 4 in E Flat Major BWV 1010 and

the Britten Cello Suite no1 op 72.

A prize winning Swedish classical guitar & theorbo

player, Johan regularly performs in the Flauguissimo Duo with flautist Yu-Wei

Hu. Their favourably reviewed CD is available on Toccata Classics.

Georgian London was a cosmopolitan

paradise for lucky artistes and the young Swedish musician,Johan Helmich

Roman, was no exception. Join us for a musical feast from the coffee houses of that

elegant era.
