Classical Concerts in Idyllic Settings

A Musical Journey Across Aylesbury Vale

Once again professional classical concerts are taking place in some of the most idyllic settings in Aylesbury Vale. Music in Quiet Places returns this season with a remarkable programme devised by Musical Director Robert Secret.

Music in Quiet Places is designed to bring rural communities together and is the ideal opportunity to enjoy professional concerts with family and friends.

A free walk led by a local historian around the scenic village will precede each concert. These walks are free and open to all, whether attending the concert or not.

Robert Secret Artistic Director

Robert Secret is a conductor and viola player. He studied the viola at the Royal Academy of Music and at the Max Rostal classes in Berne. He also studied conducting at the Academy, where he won all the major conducting prizes, and with Jean Fournet in Holland. He is well known as the conductor of Stowe Opera with whom he as conducted many productions including Rusalka. Robert has conducted many groups including The English Chamber Orchestra and The Czech Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra.

“Music in Quiet Places is a jewel in the musical calendar. The series offers an opportunity to hear glorious music in a more intimate setting and, at the same time, to discover some of Aylesbury Vale’s historic, rural villages. I am delighted to be able to lend my support to the concerts in 2012.”Carolyn Cumming, High Sheriff of Buckinghamshire, 2012-13
