ENGLISH
1. R.K. Laxman was an Indian cartoonist, illustrator, and humorist. He is best known for his
creation The Common Man and for his daily cartoon strip, "You Said It" in ‘The Times of
India’where he depicted a Common Man experiencing India, and sharing his thoughts and
opinions on the burning issue which affected all Indians. A sample of his work is given below:
The cartoon sketch published after Salman (allegedly) killed
several pavement dwellers and got away with it!
a. Prepare an album of at least 20 Cartoon Sketches of R. K Laxman. Comment on the issues depicted
through these cartoon sketches. Use a scrap file to make your album with cartoon pasted on one side
and comments on the other.
b. Research on the life of R.K Laxman. Prepare a pocket book (350 words) on his life highlighting his
work, career, cartoons, “Common Man”, awards etc. Make an attractive cover page for your book and
give an interesting title to it.
OR
1. Select any one political issue and social issue depicted by Laxman through his cartoons. Collect at
least 5 cartoons based on this issue. Write your views on that issue in about 100 words.
2. Value Based Activity:
Bullying is one of the serious issues that concerns school students. Suggest ways by which you could
help a friend who is being bullied by his classmate. Write in about 100 words. Interview any 5 of your
friends asking them the following questions:
a. What can you do if you or someone you know is being bullied?
b. Who can you tell?
c. What can you say to someone who is bullying you?
d. What action should be taken against the bully?
e. Why do people get bullied?
f. What can we do to stop bullying at school?
g. What would our school be like if everybody was friends and got along well?
Compile and present your interview in a file with a nice cover page.

MATHS
Shakuntala Devi is a mathematical prodigy known as the 'human computer'. During her early years,
she shot to fame by mentally calculating one of the toughest mathematical multiplications 10 seconds
before the fastest and the most efficient computer of that time.
1. At the University of Rome one of her answers to the problems was found to be wrong by the
calculating machine, but after re-checking it was found that the machine had made the mistake and not
Shakuntala. Collect information on famous mathematicians (any 2) and make a picture book
highlighting their contribution to mathematics. Write them on A4 sheet in about 200 words and
compile in a folder.
2. Select any 10 words from the above article and write them on an A-4 size sheet in capital letters.
Label all line segments, rays etc. in these letters. Also identify the pair of angles if any in each letter
and verify:
a) Properties of angles made by parallel lines and transverse.
b) Sum of angles forming a linear pair.
c) Sum of angles formed on a straight line
d) Measure of vertically opposite angles.
3. Value Based Activity:
Shakuntala had struggling childhood. She had become the sole bread winner of her family at a very
young age but she never gave up. Perseverance is not giving up. Recall an incidence from your life
where you did not give up easily and achieved your target. How has it made you a confident person?
Write it down in around 250 words.

SCIENCE
1. Humans are the only species on earth which generates waste! If you look around in a forest – you
don’t find anything which is being wasted. We must reduce our waste if we want to protect our
environment. Reducing your waste also means that you save a lot on disposal costs. Waste is usually
burnt or put in a landfill and both are very harmful to the environment, so let’s keep garbage to a
minimum.
a. Make a list of waste that is generated in your home every day. Classify it into biodegradable and
non-degradable, recyclable and hazardous.

1. The fact that plastics are non-biodegradable creates lots of environmental problems. More and more

Visit your nearby areas for creating awareness about the decreasing use of plastics and polythene bags
Click pictures of the people with whom you interacted for creating awareness .Also prepare a report on
your visit and your experience while interacting with different people in about 200 words.

SOCIAL SCIENCE
1. National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) is an agency of the Ministry of Home
Affairs whose primary purpose is to coordinate response to natural or man-made disasters and for
capacity-building in disaster resiliency and crisis response. Find out more about this agency and prepare
a project report in about 250 words about how can we create awareness amongst people about disaster
management.
OR
1. Local NGOs and voluntary organizations like National Cadet (NCC), Nehru Yuvya Kendra
Sangathan etc. are helping hands to government agencies in disaster management. Prepare a case study
in about 250 words on how these agencies play a major role in Disaster Response.
2. Visit a market in your locality. Carry out a survey by enquiring from at least 10 shopkeepers about
the hazards prevalent there and what steps can be taken to improve the disaster preparedness. Record
your observations and prepare a survey report in about 250 words. The report should include the
following points:

Nature of habitation (Residential/Commercial)
Organized or not
Safety measures available
Plan to improve safety
Awareness amongst the habitants
3. Value Based Activity:
When was the last time you made someone happy by your act of kindness? How did you feel? Write
your instance in about 300 words highlighting how it changed you and made you a better person.

FRENCH
1. Make a theme based magazine in French (4-5 pages).
Guidelines:
a. Choose a topic and create a name for the magazine.
b. Write features related to the chosen topic.
c. Select photographs or pictures from real magazines or internet. 4. Create cover page and table of
contents.
OR
1. Read a French story. Choose your favourite character from that story and write its character sketch
Script a sequel to the story by changing the nature of characters.in about 200 words.
2. Value Based Activity:
Self-awareness includes our recognition of ‘Self ‘of our character, of our strengths and weakness. What
aspect of yourself would you like to change/improve? How can you bring that change? Express in about
300 words.

COMPUTER SCIENCE
1. A logo is a graphic mark, emblem, or symbol commonly used by commercial enterprises,
organizations and even individuals to aid and promote instant public recognition. Logos are either
purely graphic (symbols/icons) or are composed of the name of the organization. Design a logo for
following clubs of the school. A Logo is given for your reference.

2. Value Based Activity:
Your values determine the actions you take as well as goals you set. Make logos and moto’s (any 10)
for the students who do good work in school. Example: The moto for most hardworking student may
