A NEW REVOLUTIONARY HULLThe two Fast Displacement models were developed by Benetti in collaboration with the Azimut Benetti Group
Research Centre, which has designed an extremely innovative hull geometry exclusively for the new range. The Fast
Displacement yachts are in fact equipped with a revolutionary new D2P_Displacement to Planing® hull which unites
sportiness and the performance of a planing hull with the comfort and quiet of a displacement hull. The D2P® hull
has been coupled with a wave piercer bulbous at bow, a combination which affords increased cruising efciency (less
resistance to forward motion) of up to 30% compared to a conventional hull.

The design of this new hull was carried out using a series of CFD (Computational Fluid
Dynamic) simulations to dene the best possible geometries. This was followed by extensive
tank testing to verify the computer simulations and validate the hull geometries and
associated appendages. After an initial “theoretical” phase of developing the hull shape based
on preliminary design data and layout (sizes, general plan, and design specications), the design
process then involved a hull optimising phase using CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamic)
simulations. The development of the hull shapes was quickly followed by tank testing (at the
Brodarski Institute in Zagreb) during which important hull components were optimised and
validated including the bow wave piercer and the stern tunnel thrusters. The tank testing
also included hull auto propulsion tests on all the appendages, to verify the nal propulsion
efciency and associated speed performance.
The D2P® hull is equipped with a wave piercer, enabling the new Fast Displacement series to reach higher speeds
without engine strain, or to cruise in displacement mode at an economical speed with a much greater range.
The hull has been optimised for the entire range of most frequently used speeds, including displacement modes
from 10 - 12 knots with increased range as well as cruising speeds and maximum speed of 22 knots in semi-
displacement mode.
Compared to the traditional semi-displacement hull, the new D2P® hull offers countless advantages:
Increased efciency at all speeds and therefore maximum exibility of use
Lower fuel consumption and therefore greater range
Higher cruising speed and therefore reduced transfer times
Signicant reduction in pitch and slamming and therefore increased cruising comfort
Today, the new Class Range Fast Displacement line includes two new models, the F-125’ and the F-140’. This is a
clear sign that Benetti has entered the new market of semi-custom fast yachts and that it is rounding out its range
to satisfy even the most demanding Owners, ever respectful of the values which have distinguished the Benetti
shipyard over its 140-year history: innovative technology, design, customer service, and construction excellence.

The use of the Rolls-Royce Azipull 65C on board the Benetti F-125’ (not yet
available for the F-140’) basically makes it possible to:
Improved comfort levels (reduce sound and vibrations)
Reduced footprint of the machine room, thereby freeing up space for
the guests
Reduced sound (-10 dB)
Reduced vibrations
Easier yacht handling both at high speeds and manoeuvring
Combined w i th the Ro l l s -Royce Az imut t r ansmi s s ion , the
D2P®_Displacement to Planing hull maximises efficiency for a wide
range of speeds, ensuring excellent performance.
THE NEW ROLLS-ROYCE AZIPULL PROPULSION SYSTEM Rolls-Royce designed the innovative series of Azipull 65c carbon azipod transmission systems specically for the new D2P hull.
The D2P_Displacement to Planing® hull equipped with wave piercer was perfected by Benetti technicians for the Rolls-Royce propulsion
pod by optimising all the stern tunnel thrusters and those elements impacting hydrodynamic coefcients. The result is an even greater
improvement of the already enhanced propulsion efciency of the pod drives.
The Azipull 65C pods can each generate more than 2000 kW of power; they have manoeuvrable azipod pulling propellers operated
via a simple joystick at the helm station. The Rolls-Royce innovative azimuth pods make it possible to “direct and combine” the pulling of
individual pods, ensuring easy handling at high speeds and especially at low ones while manoeuvring. In addition, a specially designed 5
blade propeller has been manufactured. The Rolls Royce Azipull 65C pods have been constructed with large amounts of carbon, making
them much lighter than traditional transmissions. To complete innovations, the engine has a “twisted” prole for increased ow efciency,
integrated discharge, and a n which makes it possible to hold the course better in different modes.
The Azipull pods also improve onboard comfort. Their conguration mean the engine and transmission can be shifted to the stern, with
the double benet of moving the sound and vibrations away from the guest areas and freeing up “noble space” on the interior.

Bow Area: private sunbathing and Jacuzzi
On the upper deck, at the bow, a large sun deck area that
can easily be covered to provide shade for al fresco cocktails,
features sofas, a sun pad and jacuzzi for the privacy of guests,
even during mooring or anchoring.
13
Beach Area
The innovative shifting of the garage to ¾ ship
with egress for the tender and water toys on the
starboard bulwark frees up space astern for a lower
stern hatch and large beach area including bar,
loungers, mattresses, shower, gym and dressing room.
The interior decoration is by the famous British design studio Redman-Whitley-Dixon, which has identified
three different types of concept: Air, the more modern and minimal; Sea, with classic marine tones; and finally
Land, with warmer and more contemporary atmospheres. Inspired by these suggestions, F-140’ Owners can
personalise every detail of interiors to match their personality, as is the case for every Benetti.
