It is extremely important that sophomores engage and participate in distance learning…

● If you were failing and/or at-risk for not being promoted to the 11th grade, you can recover your grade during distance learning. Use this opportunity!!!!

● Especially those of you not passing as of March 13: communicate with your teacher(s) and develop a plan to pass. You can do it and they are here for you!!

● Those who were passing as of March 13, use this distance learning opportunity to improve your grade and to complete essential content needed for the next year.

GRADING

➢Students may complete Qtr 3 missing work and reassessments up to 4/24 (end of Qtr 3)

■ Qtr 3 grade book is closed to new assignments as of 3/13

➢Qtr 4 has the potential to raise the final grade up to one grade distribution (B to B+) based on demonstrated proficiency of learning for a yearlong course and up to two grade distributions for a semester course (B to A-)

➢Students currently failing a yearlong or semester class, may increase to any D grade for the final mark based on Qtr 4 proficiency of learning

➢Final grades for a year long course will be the highest of the following:■ Avg of Qtrs 1, 2 & 3■ Avg of Qtrs 1, 2 & 3 w/1 grade distribution increase (if applicable)■ 1st Semester Grade■ Consideration of quality points as per FCPS Grading and Reporting■ GPA’s will be calculated based on Final Marks
