However, we hope the Grad Fest enables YOU to celebrate your graduation and provides an opportunity for YOU to come together with your classmates before you all go off in different directions.

Yearbook1) Due to Yearbook publication dates, any Senior Portraits taken for the yearbook AFTER Feb 22, will need to be a case by case basis, and you should contact Katheryn Hans to see if it is possible for your portrait to get it.

2) Yearbook Senior Baby Ads are still being accepted for yearbook. Once space is sold out, it is sold out. We have limited space, but you can purchase today on yearbookordercenter.com, use code 8967, and choose Ads.

3) You can now reserve your copy of the 2020-2021 Yearbook via MySchoolBucks. We will not be ordering more books, so if we sell out before the books come in, we will have none to sell. Reserve your copy today!

1st Day Of School

● Have access to your schedule ahead of the 1st day

● School maps will be available throughout the building

● Make sure you bring the required health commitment form with you.

● Report directly to your 1st period class.

● If you are getting Grab and Go breakfast, it is available in the lobby and

cafeteria.

● Make sure you have a mask on covering your mouth and nose.

● Maintain distance at all times (grab and go line, entrance, eating, etc.)

Bathroom● Use good hand washing practices

○ Wash with soap and water for at least 20 seconds● Maintain six feet distance● If all the stalls are occupied, wait outside● Go directly to and from bathroom with no other

stops● Keep mask on, even in the bathroom● While waiting in line to use the bathroom,

maintain distance and be respectful by waiting for your turn.

● When you hear the warning bell indicating that class will start soon, go to class then receive permission to go to the bathroom from your teacher.

Passing Time (In The Hallways)

● Maintain social distancing ● Keep your mask on covering your nose and mouth● Follow traffic patterns in the hallways (walk on the right side)● Go directly to your class and do not stop/gather in the hallway to socialize● Use hand sanitizer when arriving in a classroom● If you are still in line to use the bathroom when you hear the warning bell, go

to class first then ask for permission to use the bathroom.

Cafeteria Routines● Eating will only be allowed in the cafeteria.● Make sure to follow the signs to enter and exit the cafeteria.● Walking around the cafeteria will not be allowed, once lunch has

been started.● Do not move your seats to another table. Chairs have been

marked to keep students properly social distanced.● When getting the lunch from the cafeteria line, follow the markings

on the floor to maintain social distancing. ● Remain in the cafeteria for the entire duration of the lunch period.● No sharing of food & sanitize your hands before and after eating.● School meals are free this year for everyone, but students will

need to pay additional to items beyond their allotted meal. We recommend putting money in MySchools to avoid handling cash.

Eating / Drinking In The ClassroomComer / beber en el aula

Coming to the Main Office

● If you need to come to the main office, you may do so during class with teacher’s permission. You will not be able to come to the main office during lunch, unless you have a pass.

● When you reach the main office, make sure to speak with the front office staff behind the plexiglass.

● If all the “waiting spots” are filled, please wait outside of the main office.

Sharing Items

• Students will be required to label and maintain their own personal set of required classroom supplies, keep them in their backpack and take them to and from school each day.

• Electronic devices, toys, books, games or learning aids are not to be shared unless they can be cleaned or disinfected.

• Do not share items between persons, unless items are cleaned and disinfected between each person (with an EPA-approved disinfectant). Avoid using shared items that are difficult to clean.

Go to the nearest exit door and walk towards the Kiss & Ride or bus lanes.

Walking outside the school will avoid crowding in the hallways.

● Mask is required on school grounds which includes bus stop and outside the school building.

● Wash your hands frequently.● Use hand sanitizers frequently.● If you forget your mask or you need a new

one, inform a staff immediately.● If you need to blow your nose, please step

outside. ● Don’t forget to cough/sneeze into your sleeve!

Student Laptops

● Students should bring their FCPS-assigned laptops with them to school and take

that laptop home each day.

● Extra laptops will not be available in all classrooms.

● Laptop should be fully charged each morning and ready to use.

● DO NOT use disinfectant spray on the device or apply hand sanitizer directly on

the device as it may damage the electronics.

● Parents may use an alcohol wipe or disinfectant wipe to gently wipe down the

laptop and keyboard if necessary.

● Make sure that students fully shut down the laptop at the end of each day

(powered off, not just closed) to allow it to keep the latest updates.

Student ParkingStudent Parking at Herndon High School for 2nd Semester 2020 - 2021 School Year – Students who are interested in parking on school grounds for the 2nd semester of 2021, will have to register on the Google Form https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSc0Wm2RN5Egislpawpf3yRmWInja1DmYgN1t39IWMPLjpX6ow/viewform?usp=sf_link . Once you have registered on the Google Doc please review, print, and complete the attached parking application/forms (form 1, 2, and 3). Bring your completed packet (with parent signatures), a copy of your driver’s license, to the cafeteria on the assigned days.

● Seniors can pick up parking pass on Monday, 2/22 & Tuesday, 2/23 from 12n – 3pm at door 14 by the cafeteria.

● Juniors can pick up parking passes on Thursday, 2/25 & Friday, 2/26 from 12n – 3pm at door 14 by the cafeteria.

● Sophomores can pick up parking passes Monday, 3/1 from 12n – 3pm at door 14 by the cafeteria.

There is no fee for parking on school grounds during the 2nd semester of 2021. All vehicles must be registered and a parking permit must be displayed in your windshield at all times between the hours of 7:30am and 2:55pm while school is in session.

Reminder: students may not park on campus without completing this process. We will continue to review our parking availability and add student parking when possible.
