IPC, Biology, Chemistry, Physics (IPC can NOT count as a science for

DAP)

If he/she needs help deciding their future career, consider taking the Kuder Assessment; we have the forms in the counselor’s office.

Several colleges have said student NEED their own email address.

They have told us if they see the email is from the parent they tell them to get there own!!

Apply Early

Make sure your student gets started early in the fall…as soon as school starts.

Nov. 1 used to be the optimum date for completion of all paperwork; deadlines are getting earlier and earlier…

College Entrance Exams Juniors should sign up for both the SAT

and the ACT in the late spring of this year. Then, repeat both or the one that was the highest in the early fall.

TSI—Texas State Initiative

A state mandate that requires students to be assessed in reading, writing and math prior to college.

HCC will announce in the spring at the HCC Night what will fulfill the TSI requirement.

Student Profile Packet Gives the counselor information

about the student for letters and applications

Found on Counselor’s page of the CRHS website.

Complete this packet at the beginning of your senior year and bring to the counselors’ office to file so it’s ready to be used.

Financial Aid

1. Complete the federal form called the FAFSA after January 1st of the senior year.

2. Colleges can have their own financial aid/scholarship applications.

College Visits Students are allowed 2 college

visits in the junior year and 2 in the senior year.

Stop by the attendance office for form at least 2 days ahead of the visit.

Complete the form and return it to the attendance office upon return from visit.
