They are just about ready to be mailed this week. Read a book about Ellis Island while focusing on some key questions Examined what we thought we knew about the Statue of Liberty and figured out what was true and what we needed to fix from our new discoveries Looked at Google Earth and have some questions about whether the Statue is in NY or NJ! Continued practicing lowercase cursive letter formation Introduced What Was Ellis Island Shared Student/Parent reading experience Sent home reading plan Final Green Lunch bunch meeting SNOW DAY on Wednesday 2 Hour Delay on Thursday Worked on our Statue of Liberty creations in the IDEA Studio Spelling Unit 17-Words Writers Use Continued learning about bar graphs and line plots Wrote Family Share reflections Introduction to the Folktale genre and heard Ms. Schraeder's favorite folktale- The Empty Pot Talked about aspects of folktales and started independently reading student chosen books Celebrated Mr. Simmonds birthday with a surprise song and cake! Celebrated Darian’s birthday! Enjoyed the Roy Family Share-learning all about their hobbies and traveling adventures! Reminders Stay Connected Send PE bags & water bottles every Monday. They will be sent home every Friday to be cleaned. As we are switching to our spring uniforms, may I remind you to PLEASE make sure that your child’s name in labeled in ALL of his/her clothing. It really makes things much easier when items have gone missing!
