SCADA Today • Today, asset health monitoring is often comprised of

fixed alarm limits manually defined within control systems, smart devices, SCADA, or historians.

• Complicated and ever-changing rule sets combined with manual trend analysis and experienced operator intuition is not sufficient in today’s environment. – Does not scale

– Cannot effectively monitor plant operations

– Prone to miss subtle precursors to failure
