Factors of Growth The Clarkston Chamber has been in a continuous pattern o growth over the last year and there are so many actors

involved in creating that growth; a ocused Board o Directors, positive and motivated sta and a belie in the ClarkstonChamber by our investors.

In January we released the We ARE the Chamber commercial and our in omercial. Both were well received andexuded the confdence that you have in the Clarkston Chamber o Commerce. The benefts o these Chamberproducts were two- old. The Chamber was overwhelmed with e-mails and phone calls o businesses that wanted tobe a part o this great advertising opportunity to showcase their confdence in the Chamber. It also demonstratedthe Chambers desire to o er the best advertising possible or these businesses at no cost.

The reality o the economy has been a ocus o the Chamber or the last ew months. The Board has been workingtirelessly to fnd ways to provide members with methods o standing strong, sustaining and increasing advertising with

minimum expense. In order to achieve this goal, extra work sessions and modifcations were required to the unreleasedsponsorship packages.

At this time, we are pleased to announce the three leadership packages that will increase your visibility and advertising opportunitieswithin the Clarkston Chamber. Our Visionary, Corporate and Business Leadership packages have been designed to provide the greatest

impact and exposure or your business utilizing all avenues available.

Please stand with the Clarkston Chamber o Commerce and proudly call your business a Visionary, Corporate or Business Leader.

The Committee meeting was called to order by Chairman Jerry Klemm at 7:15 am.

A ter a round o sel introductions, Jerry introduced the speaker, Larry Peltz, the Dworshak Fisheries Complex manager. Larry described hisbackground with service in the Alaska Department o Fish & Game, as well as service with the National Marine Fisheries Service, and NOOA Fisheries.

The complex is owned by The Corps o Engineers and is operated by the Fish and Wildli e service. The acility operates with a sta o 45 personnel. The SRBA agreement calls or the Nez Perce Tribe to act as co-managers, and currently 3.5 positions are flled by Tribal employees, three o which areregistered tribal members. The acility has as a long-term sta fng goal o having 50 percent o the employees being Tribal Members or employees. The tribe has a strong interest in fsheries restoration, and has originated a success ul Coho restoration program.

Larry answered questions rom the oor, and spoke o projections or a strong spring Chinook run.

He also spoke o several projects he would like to see, such as a realignment o acilities based on appropriateness or raising or acclimating variousspecies, and integration o new technology. Most o the northwest acilities are approaching f ty years o service, and were designed without thebeneft o the newer technologies. For example, virtually all o the water used in the acility is pumped rom the river, rather than gravity owed rombehind the dam, which compromises both water quality and temperature optimization.

Given the current economic situation, it is unlikely that capital will be available or upgrades in the oreseeable uture.

The Hatchery provides tours or 10-15,000 guests per year, many o which are grade school classes in the spring, as well as providing three tours aday during the summer.
