This years Fall Rally took

place in beautiful

Vanderwagon NM! Not

only were we able to

witness wonderful

scenery but we were also

able to have a lot of fun!

The Hunger Games theme

2

also made everything that

much more exciting.

Hunger game activities were,

but not limited to:

Scavenger hunts, killing off

the other districts(not really),

Obstacle courses, training,

3

and a whole lot of

bonding. We were all able

to meet many new friends,

who joined us from

Arizona, Colorado and

even Canada!

Fall Rally 2014…..May the odds be ever in our favor UNM CKI!!!!!!!!!!

Lorem Ipsum Issue | Date Balloon Fiesta This year at the annual balloon fiesta, we had an incredible amount of volunteers! We were able to collect about 125 volunteer hours. Even though it was cold, and some situations were stressful, we were able to have fun watching the McCall’s Pumpkin Patch

For the UNM October Social, we decided to take a haunted trip down to McCall’s Pumpkin Patch. It was a lot of fun to go through the corn maze and get spooked the entire way! There’s a reason UNM CKI goes back to this spook-tacular place year after year, and it’s because of the absolute amazing time we have with our members!!

With  The  Eliminate  Project,  Kiwanis  International  and  UNICEF  have  joined  forces  to  eliminate  maternal  and  neonatal  tetanus.  Neonatal  tetanus  kills  one  baby  every  nine  minutes—nearly  60,000  newborn  children  every  year.  A  significant  number  of  women  also  die  due  to  maternal  tetanus.  The  effects  of  the  disease  are  excruciating—tiny  newborns  suffer  repeated,  painful  convulsions  and  extreme  sensitivity  to  light  and  touch.

To  eliminate  MNT  from  the  Earth,  129  million  mothers  and  their  future  babies  must  be  immunized.  This  requires  vaccines,  syringes,  safe  storage,  transportation,  thousands  of  skilled  staff  and  more.  It  will  take  $110  million—and  the  dedicated  work  of  UNICEF  and  every  member  of  the  Kiwanis  family.

Trick or Treat for UNICEF

Every year, UNM CKI teams up with UNICEF to collect money for the Eliminate Project. This year, we were able to go out and hand out flyers to alert the neighborhood we would be coming. We then went out Halloween night in our costumes and collected money from the neighborhood. It turned out great!!! With the bake sale we had earlier in the day as well, we were able to raise a good amount of
