CIVIL RIGHTS ROAD TRIP Spring 2019 May 20 - 31, 2019 Service Learning Experience Red Rocks Community College HIS 122 US History Since 1865 (3 credits) BUS 192 Civil Rights Law (3 credits) Classroom Sessions: Feb 8 - May 10, 2019 Fridays, 10:30am - 1:30pm (hours & locations will vary) Highlights: Supreme Court, Holocaust Museum, National Mall. Civil Rights Institute, Kelly Ingram Park, 16th Street Baptist Church. Selma Bridge, Montgomery Civil Rights Memorial & Memorial for Peace & Justice. French Quarter, WWII Museum, Whitney Plantation. Lorraine Motel, Stax Records. Approximate Pricing: $1950 Includes: Transportation, lodging, entrance fees, & most meals. Excludes: RRCC tuition, books, & some meals. We are limited to 20 students - Your non-refundable $500 deposit is due by February 1, 2019 to reserve your spot on a “frst come frst reserved” basis. Fridays will be service learning with a mix of classroom-based meetings, feld trips and partic- ipation in service with organizations such as Denver Rescue Mission, Jeffco Action Center, The Gathering Place, Habitat for Humanity, Project Angel Heart and others. Trip will include historic civil rights sites in Wash- ington DC, Atlanta GA, Birmingham, Selma & Montgomery AL, New Orleans/Wallace LA, and Memphis TN.
