The fixed towball is the most common towing bracket, the name “swan neck”comes from the design of the towball neck which resembles a swan neck. Thetowbar requires minimal maintenance and provides protection for the rear bumper.

The horizontal detachable towball is a good compromise between the fixed andVertical detach towball. It’s design makes it easy to fit and remove. The towballis designed to fit directly into the fixed towbar bracket, in case one wishes to change type of towbar without having to remove the whole bracket.

The ACS vertical detachable towball is Alexo’s top of the line product. It offersvery discrete design and often comes with a swiveling electrical socket. Alexo Towbars Sweden offer quality towbars produced as a result of direct market research. Every towbar is sold with a unique 5-year guarantee which covers the functioning of the towbar system. Detachable towbars are to be removed when not used for towing, a common result of not removing the towbar during longer periods of time is oxidation of the inner mechanical parts, which causes the towbar to “stick” to it’s bracket. This is a direct result of mistreatment and is therefore not covered by the guarantee. The 5-year guarantee ensures the continuing functionality of the towbar during this time period. It is however required to have yearly checkups (free of charge at ATS reseller) in order for the guarantee to be valid. Each checkup must be documented below.

Towbar checkup includes: Control of bolts and screws, re-painting if required, test of detachable system and test of electrical system.

Alexo Towbars Sweden tillhandahåller kvalitetsdragkrokar tillverkade efter direkt resultat från marknadsundersökning. Samtliga dragkrokar säljs med en unik 5-års garanti vilken omfångar funktionaliteten hos dragkroken. Demonterbara drag skall vara avplockade när dem ej används, ett vanligt resultat av kvarsittande demonterbara dragkrokar är rostangrepp på de inre mekaniska de-larna vilket resulterar i att dragkroken fastnar i balken. Detta täcks ej av garantin då det inträffar som ett direkt resultat från felaktig användning. För att 5-års garantin skall gälla under hela tidsperioden krävs att en årlig checkup utförs (kostnadsfritt hos ATS återförsäljare). Detta måste dokumenteras nedan med datum och signatur från en ATS återförsäljare.

Dragkroks-checkup inkluderar: Kontroll av skruvar och muttrar, omfärgning av kula, test av demonter-bar funktionalitet samt test av elsystemet.

Fitting instructions

Monteringsanvisningar

For this specific towbar the fitting instructions are solely represented using pictograms in order to fa-cilitate the installation process. Before beginning the installation, please review the pictograms several times and check that all material required as well as tools required are available. If the towbar requires cutting of the bumper, make sure you do not trim more then necessary.

After the installation is complete have a fellow mechanic check that all bolts and screws have been tightened to the correct momentum. Notice that after first 1000km all bolts and screws are to be retight-ened according to the diagram found on the last page, this applies to every brand of towbar and is in no way unique for Alexo towbars.

För denna specifika dragkroksmodellen erbjuds endast installationsanvisningar i piktogramform. Innan ni påbörjar installationsprocessen, läs igenom hela anvisningen noggrannt och se till att samtliga delar och verktyg som krävs finns tillgängliga. Om dragkroken kräver sågning av bakre stötfångaren, se till att inte kapa mer än vad som krävs.

När installationen är färdig, be en kollega kontrollera att samtliga skruvar och muttrar är åtdragna till angivet vridmoment. Observera att efter första 1000km skall dessa skruvar dras åt ytterliggare en gång i enlighet med diagrammet som finns på sista sidan. Åtdragning krävs av samtliga dragkrokstillverkare och är ej specifikt för ALexo dragkrokar.

All Alexo towbars are CE-branded and approved for usage within the European Union. The towbar should be installed in accordance with the installation instructions. Installation should be carried out by an experienced mechanic. All fitting is performed under own risk and manufacturer cannot be held responsible for any damage caused by fitting this towbar. Always observe national guidelines concerning official approval of extensions. Any alteration and/or conversion of the tow bar is prohibited and will result in the cancellation of the type approval. Remove insulating compound and/or underseal (if existing) from around the tow bar’s mating surfaces on the vehicle. The tow bar is designed for towing trailers fitted with ball couplings and for use with load bearing implements approved for attachment to the tow bar. Any use other than the one specified is prohibited. If vehicles are fitted with a Parking Distance Control (PDC) system malfunctioning of the system can occur after tow bar installation since the parts (ball bar, ball coupling) could be located in the detection area of the sensors. In this case, the detection area should be readjusted or the PDC deactivated. Malfunctioning is not expected when using tow bars with detachable or pivoted ball bars if the ball bar is removed from its operating position. The towing hitch makes increased demands on the cooling system. Inquire at your contracted garage regarding any necessary reconstruction measures on the cooling system.
