Clinical audit experience:

Attended clinical governance and audit meetings every month in Glasgow

Dental Hospital and School.

MSc research study was selected for an audit from the R&D database in line

with NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde Research & Development quality

assurance process. A site file was prepared by me to reconstruct the study

and to measure compliance with the study protocol and the principles of

good clinical practice (GCP) in line with the Research Governance Framework

for Health and Community Care.

Clinical experience:

While working in University of Dammam, Saudi Arabia, during my MSc in Oral

and Maxillofacial surgery at University of Glasgow as well as my 1 and a half

years work experience in Pakistan, I regularly performed individually, under

supervision and assisted in orthognathic surgery, head and neck cancer

surgery, maxillofacial trauma surgery, TMJ surgery, dental implantology

procedures, surgical removal of impacted teeth, surgical exposure of teeth

and gold chain bonding, cysts and mucoceles enucleation, salivary calculi

removal, vestibuloplasty procedure, zygomatic implants, sinus lift procedures

and skin procedures.

I had clinical rotations in dental radiology and oral medicine, maxillofacial

diagnostic aids at Neuroradiology department, carried out dental sedation,

rotation in maxillofacial laboratory where I completed the orthognathic

model surgery training module.

I had been actively involved in the outpatient consultant clinics, where I

provided consultation individually, also involved in the dentofacial planning

clinic for 2 years.

Approach to working in a team:

Worked as a ‘Field Monitor’ in a team for creating awareness about hepatitis and

HIV among people living in villages. Job responsibilities included:

Worked as a "Team Leader" and carried out a survey with a team of 10 dentists to

find out the relationship between the frequency of tooth brushing and dental health.
