The Circulatory System
Main FunctionThe circulatory system helps and controls
the flow of blood around the body.
2 Interesting Facts1. Adults have 10.6 pints of blood.2. Blood is thicker than water.
2 Supporting Organs1. Heart2. Veins/Arteries
3 Relative Words1. Arteries- Tough, elastic tubes that carry
blood away from the heart.2. Aorta- Largest artery in the body.3. Venules- The smallest veins.
A Supporting Body System The Respiratory System. When the blood
reaches the lungs the carbon dioxide is removed. The fresh oxygen we've breathed in through the lungs takes it's place.
5 Terms to Learn 1. Inhale- Filling the lungs with fresh
oxygen.2. Arterioles- Thinner arteries.3. Heart- A muscular organ that pumps blood through the body.4. Lungs- Respiratory organs that work together with the heart to remove carbon dioxide and replace it with oxygen.5. Oxygen- The essential element for life.
