Advanced CDS Technology (BLUESORP ®)

Back in 2007 Hamon started todevelop their own CFD simulationtools in order to understand andespecially further improve the CDStechnology. With the support of plantoperators at different plants, theresults of the CFD simulation werevalidated at various load cases.

As a consequence of the CFDsimulations the weak points of thetechnology could be identified andthe operation of the CDS plant was

adopted to the newrecommendations, which deleted theproblem of high moisture content inthe product and the relatedblockages inside the CDS system. Inaddition the potential for furtherimprovement by changing the venturisection design and the waterinjection system was identified.

MODIFICATION OF VENTURI NOZZLES MODIFICATION OF WATER INJECTION

In 2012/2013 the design changes for the venturi section and the water injection systemwere installed at the CDS plant at Plzeňská teplarenská / Czech Republic. The successfulimprovement of the plant and other CDS developments

Based on the successful executed improvements HAMON´s semidry BLUESORP ®

technology is offering a much more reliable operation at all boiler load cases. Followingthe optimized process the lime consumption (molar ratio) can be significantly reduced.
