In Flanders Fields, the poppies blow,
Between the crosses row on row,
That mark our place, and in the sky, The
larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce
heard amid the guns below
We are the dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow
Loved, were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders Field
Take up your quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders Field

Detention Policy
Dear Parents/Guardians,
This letter is to inform you that Valley View School will be reinstating the detention policy
for minor infractions of behavior. We are
targeting one behavior at a time, the first
being leaving the class/school grounds without permission.
The first offense results in a fifteen
minute after school detention in the grade
6 room. You will be contacted before the end of the day that your child is serving a
detention.
If the student does not show up for his/her
detention, parents will again be contacted, and the detention will be served the
following day. As well, extracurricular
privileges will be suspended for one week.
If the second detention is missed, the
student may not return to school without
an accompanying parent or guardian.
We appreciate your support in helping us stop
this and other negative behaviors. As you
know, it is a real safety concern when teachers
are not aware of tier students’ location, in case of fire or other such events.
Future behaviors will be added as students
become familiar with the process. They are:
Defiance to teachers Disrespect to others
Chronic lateness
Inappropriate language Property misuse
Cell phone/Telecommunication usage
Throwing objects
The detention policy began on Tuesday,
November 6, 2012 for grades K-9
Should Pinehouse Speak for our Whole Region on whether or Not to
host a Nuclear Waste Dump?
Pinehouse and the Nuclear Waste Management
Organization have struck an 8-member committee
of Pinehouse residents called the Community
Liaison Committee (CLC). Vince Natomagan chairs
this CLC which plans to hold ONE regional
meeting early in 2013 to monitor all the regional
communities’ (this includes Beauval) opinion on
hosting a nuclear waste dump in northern
Saskatchewan, even though Natomagan himself has
stated that they as a CLC “don’t know anything about it yet”. The Pinehouse CLC is hosting an
open house on November 21st, 2012. The
Committee for Future Generations is encouraging
residents from many regional communities as
possible to attend this open house with the message
that our region does not recognize Pinehouse as
an authority to speak for our region in site
selection process with the Nuclear Waste
Management Organization for a nuclear waste
dump in northern Saskatchewan.
For more information and/or if you are interested in attending this open house, please email
[email protected] or call

In Flanders Fields, the poppies blow,
Between the crosses row on row,
That mark our place, and in the sky, The
larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce
heard amid the guns below
We are the dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow
Loved, were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders Field
Take up your quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders Field
