The Monarch’s Message

My fellow Prophets, 2012 is going to be a busy year for many of our Masonic brothers (and prophets). We’ve all heard the phrase, “there must be something in the water.” But, this year, this phrase definitely rings true. So far, three prophets from the Realm have proudly an-nounced that this year, they are going to be first-time dad’s - Past Monarch & Treasurer Roger Puckett, Assistant Secretary Vladimir Badong and Venerable Prophet Joey Lamberti. And, recently initi-ated prophet, Paul Santana, and his wife brought a beautiful baby girl into the world on January 25, 2012. I guess he had a good rea-son for missing our monthly Wednesday meeting! As a father of two myself, I know that they are in for the ride of their lives - espe-cially Prophet Lamberti, who is expecting twins! We should all wish them luck - and remind them to get as much sleep as possible while they can. The buzz surrounding our fair Grotto is spreading like wild-fire. Keep up the recruiting, prophets! I really don’t want to revamp my wardrobe if we lose to Ubar Grotto - I’m not quite sure where to buy overalls and clogs in order to be “properly clad” amongst the Ubar boys. February 2012 is all kinds of special! True, it is the month of roses, hearts and chocolate. But, since 2012 is a leap year, which oc-curs every four years, let’s try to get at least four new members this month! If you don’t want to do it for the Grotto, do it for that creepy cupid boy - he always looks so sad and frankly, he needs a little brotherly love.

Yours in fellowship, Monarch Chris Plucinski

From the desk of

our Secretary

Prophets, On January 14, 2012, Zula Grotto, located in Ontario, held their yearly installation. My wife, Liz, along with myself and other prophets and their wives also attended: Jim and Cynthia Cunning-ham, Richard and Rita Landon, and Don and Gwen Spencer. It was a great event - one definitely worthy of our Grotto name! If any prophet gets a chance, check out one of Zula’s monthly meetings, which are held on the first Wednesday of every month at Ontario Masonic Temple. It’s important that we show our contin-ued support within the Realm! I have arranged a tour of the Regan Presidential Library, which is scheduled to take place on February 11, 2012, with a start time of 10:00 am. The costs of the tour are posted on the Facebook event page. Following the tour, we are also planning on engaging in fur-ther fellowship at a local restaurant. If you wish you attend, please let me know as soon as possible. Now, on the business side of things, if you haven’t paid your dues, please do so. Although we are an easy going bunch, I do have all of your contact information. And, if need be, I will drag Prophet Cap-tain of the Guard, David Taylor, along with me. If you know Prophet Taylor like I do, it will not be a pretty sight!

Be-eing You, Jim Jarnagin, PM, Secretary

Duly and truly prepared, and properly clad and vouched for

When a candidate comes to lodge to be conferred for a Masonic degree, he is expected to be such - to be duly and truly prepared - meaning to be at the sense of rightfulness to earn such honor to receive the light; to be properly clad - meaning to be at the proper attire that denotes intent, seriousness, fortitude and re-spect; and finally, to be vouched for - meaning that the fraternity will support him when questioned about his integrity - provided that he is worthy to be called a fellow of the craft - a duly and truly prepared, properly clad and vouched for brother. Whenever a brother comes to lodge - be it for a Stated Meeting or any degree conferral, he is highly expected to be such. He is expected to be duly and truly prepared - that of to conduct him-self accordingly and that of to follow the rules, regulations, edicts and landmarks of the fraternity. He is expected to be properly clad - that of to be dressed accordingly to the sanctity of the fra-ternity of which we value and respect as Masons of all ages has come before us. For It is only when he is duly and truly prepared and properly clad that he can be vouched for to earn the right to be called a worthy brother Mason. So my brother, are you duly and truly prepared, properly clad and vouched for? by Prophet Vladimir Badong, San Fernando Lodge 343
