CINEC – SLSC SCHOLARSHIPS IN SHIPPING & LOGISTICS Colombo International Nautical and Engineering College (CINEC) in association with The Sri Lanka Shippers' Council (SLSC) embarked on a scholarship program for the SLSC membership who is involved in logistics, freight forwarding and supply chain to excel in higher education and enhance their career prospects on those fields. The Scholarships were offered at the 43 rd Annual General Meeting of the Sri Lanka Shippers’ Council held on 14 th June 2013 at the Kingsbury Hotel, Colombo. The Chief Guest, Dr. Priyath B. Wickrama, Chairman Sri Lanka Ports Authority presented the scholarships on Professional Diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain Management to Ms. Chamalka Kalingarachchi of Associated Motorways (Private Limited) and Certificate in Logistics Services, Freight Forwarding and Multimodal Transport to Mr. Ajith Mallawarachchi of Freight Links International.

CINEC – SLSC SCHOLARSHIPS IN SHIPPING & LOGISTICS Colombo International Nautical and Engineering College (CINEC) in association with The Sri Lanka Shippers' Council (SLSC) embarked on a scholarship program for the SLSC membership who is involved in logistics, freight forwarding and supply chain to excel in higher education and enhance their career prospects on those fields.

 The Scholarships were offered at the 43rd Annual General Meeting of the Sri Lanka Shippers’ Council held on 14th June 2013 at the Kingsbury Hotel, Colombo. The Chief Guest, Dr. Priyath B. Wickrama, Chairman Sri Lanka Ports Authority presented the scholarships on Professional Diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain Management to Ms. Chamalka Kalingarachchi of Associated Motorways (Private Limited) and Certificate in Logistics Services, Freight Forwarding and Multimodal Transport to Mr. Ajith Mallawarachchi of Freight Links International.  

Certificate in Customs and Border Management Procedures and Certificate in Exports and Imports Practices and Procedures  were also awarded to  Mr. T N L Fernado and Ms. Thushari Priyadarshani of MAS Active Trading respectively.

CINEC was established in 1990 and is a highly recognized and respected for Maritime, Logistics and Transport related professional education in Sri Lanka. As the accredited training institute in Sri Lanka for Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) and also an institute approved by the Director General of Merchant Shipping to conduct Freight Forwarding course for the purpose of applying for Licenses it makes an effective contribution to professional education in Sri Lanka. Up on completing the Advanced Diploma which is equivalent to a degree qualification the successful candidates may apply for the MSc or MBA in Transportation Planning and Logistics Management; Maritime Safety and Environmental Management; Logistics and Supply Chain Management. The most successful individuals may subsequently apply for the PhD in Transport Planning and Logistics Management thus reaching the most prestigious level in their academic path. CINEC is the training and education partner of Ceylon Association of Ships Agents (CASA) -the leading voice of the Shipping Industry in Sri Lanka.
