Charting The Course Our experiences at Syracuse University were
positive and rewarding; we wanted an opportunity to “give back” to our alma mater.
We were aware of the impending need for new professionals entering the field.
We noticed limited course offerings in the health sciences at Syracuse.
We wanted to encourage current students with an interest in health sciences librarianship.

Cosmic Considerations Can we effectively gauge the number of
students interested in health sciences? What are the strengths of MLS programs
with a health sciences curriculum? What are emerging models at other
institutions? What are future consequences for the
profession if courses remain limited?
MAC 2004 Raleigh, NC
