• All of these solutions have been put in place to reduce the administrative load on the employee’s within Icon, allowing them to concentrate on running the business. It has also reduced human error and provides Icon’s retailers with a more timely process from Icon receiving the order to despatching it to the customer/retailer.

• Data between all 3rd party logistics and warehousing companies have been automated through Magma allowing Icon to structure the picking and despatch process throughout Europe.

• The integration between Sage and its websites has allowed Icon to manage this part of the business with minimal human resources. Again this allows Icon to utilise its employee’s time to develop this part of the business instead of being weighed down with manual order processing and stock updates.

• Approximately 70% of administration resources is allocated to manually processing data from customer orders and schedules.

• It was decided that implementing EDI with key customers would be the best way to reduce manual data input, allowing more time to be spent managing customer demand which is primarily focused on maximising production and supply efficiency and improving customer service levels.
