St. Vincent de Paul Donation Boxes Every year the Society of St. Vincent de Paul makes more than 8,000 visits to the homes of needy families in the Cincinnati area and helps thousands of people with basic necessities like food, clothing and medicine. It is a wonderful feeling to see the excitement on a child’s face when picking out a warm winter coat or the gratitude of a family receiving basic furniture for their empty apartment. The St. Vincent de Paul thrift stores are an essential part of our ministry, providing basic necessities without charge to families in great need. But we are able to give only in the measure we receive. That is why we are asking for your help to place a donation box at your parish or business. Frequently Asked Questions Q: What are the dimensions of the box? A: Boxes are 46” deep, 54” wide, by 81” tall. Q: What kind of donations can be placed in the boxes? A: Clothing and non-fragile items may be placed in the boxes. Donors may call 421-CARE to arrange for pick up

of larger items. Q: How often will the boxes be emptied? A: A pick up schedule will be determined based on usage, but all boxes will be emptied at least once per week.

In the case that a box overflows, please call 421-CARE to arrange for an immediate pick up during the week or call 200-1662 during weekend hours.

Q: Do I need to worry about vandalism? A: The boxes are made of heavy-gauge steel and are designed so it is impossible to remove items that have

been placed inside. If you have additional questions, please contact Operations Director Prentice Carter at 313-1544. Thank you for your consideration.

The Drop Inn Center believes in human dignity and that everyone has the right to food, shelter, clothing, and medical care. Our doors are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to anyone in need of our services. On average, we provide shelter to 200 men and women each and every day. During the winter months, the Center usually reaches its capacity to sleep 300 people each night. In a typical year, we serve more than 110,000 meals and distribute toiletries, towels, blankets, and clothes to thousands of homeless residents. Volunteer medical professionals provide basic health care at no cost to residents six days a week.
