Utilization of Size Chemical Waste In Biogas
Innovative Project -1 UCO
Raymond UCO 2017-18
Raymond UCO always keep trying to find out new way of energy conservation. We have Biogas plant of 500 KG waste. Innovative Project -1
We were using canteen, Guest house andcolony food waste to feed this plant. After brain storming and research we observed that, we have Sizing machines wherein sizing chemical used which is composition of mainly starch and binding agentwhich has high COD value and 100 % bio degradable. We started mixing this chemical into the feed of biogas and our biogas output increased from 40 Kg/day to 75 kg/day.
Advantages –
1.ETP COD and BOD load reduces.2.Increased in generation of Gas output.3.Approximate saving of 35 Kg/ day LPG gas.4.Reduction in CO2 emission.

Existing System is equipped with 60 no. of double Tube light fitting.
And 18 no. of Light Pipe.
We did the interlocking of these lights with LDR.
When daylight is available and Lux level reaches to 100. All Tube
lights automatically OFF.
By implementing this project
we have saved = 8500 Unit/year.
Investment Rs. = 30000 / Light Pipe

Green Supply Chain _ its replications UCO
PCW Denim garments are deconstructed into scraps and shredded into raw cotton
again. This cotton fiber is then blended with virgin cotton to ensure good tensile strength
and woven into new denim fabric and & processing it with natural Colors like bio-indigo
& vegetables dyes.
This innovative technology not only converts consumer waste into renewable fiber, it
also uses 98 percent less water than virgin cotton products.
Raymond UCO 2017-18
Use Of Post Consumer Cotton Waste (PCW) in denim fabric manufacturing
Shredding Cotton Recovery
Yarn PreparationDenim Fabric
Blending with Virgin Cotton
Final Product
Green Supply Chain _ its replications UCO
Tangible Benefits1. No wet process is involved in the production of PCW cotton fiber.2. Huge Water saving as compared to virgin cotton production.3. No pesticides used in PCW cotton production.4. Saving of agricultural land that would have been otherwise required to produce cotton.
Intangible Benefits
1. Employment generation for unskilled labours.2. Recycling textile waste reduces burden on nature.3. Mostly garment wastes are being land filled, by this project it would be Saved
Reduction in carbon footprintGHG emission for conventionally grown cotton is around 1.81 MT of CO2 equivalent per 1 MT of cotton fiber produced. Thus for 171 MT of PCW cotton total 310 MT of CO2 emission from have been reduced.
Reduction in Water FootprintGlobal average total of water consumed while producing 1000 kg of cotton conventionally is around 2120 m3 for irrigation. Thus for 171 MT of PCW cotton total 363 KL of water footprint will be reduced.
Monetary SavingFor production of 1322381 meters of PCW denim fabric, total 171470 kg of PCW cotton is used. The
average buying cost of cotton per kg is Rs 106.50. Total Rs 1.8 crore has been saved in FY -17-18 against purchase of fresh cotton.
Raymond UCO 2017-18
Green Supply Chain _ its replications UCOApart from these major projects we are regularly doing the following activity-1. We send the note with every enquiry to vender that we will give first preference to
energy efficient product. 2. Distribution of LED Lights to employee. 3. Distribution of Energy conservation awareness broachers at society. 4. Conducted training at school, colleges and vender’s plants. 5. Give technical help to our vendor to find out energy efficient products and services.
We have purchase strategy to procure only Energy efficient motors & 5 star rated equipments. We also ask our supplier to follow the energy conservation practices for sustainable development.
Recently we have implemented LED lighting project at our supplier M/s, Rana Denim Pvt. Ltd. Yavatmal. We have extended our full techno commercial support to implement Encon measure. People get self motivated and come up with different innovative ideas for energy conservation and process improvement. Our vender gets benefited by reduction in manufacturing cost. Achieved overall saving of Rs. 3 Lac Kwh /Annum by this project.
