August 2 70 Years of Leading Worship in Song! A celebraon of Paul Brown’s leading singing for 70 years, to be held at the Granny White Church of Christ from 2 l 3:30. August 5 Back to School Devoonal and dinner. Sign up on white board if you plan to aend meal. All ages devoonal main building at 5:30. Then going to Rec Center for food and fellowship. There will not be a 7:00 service that night. August 6 Secret Friends Summer Game Night at 6:00 at the Mexican Restaurant on the hill. We have lots of good summer reading in Room 13. (1.5) In Him is NO darkness at all! Identifying marks of those who are walking in the light (1.6 – 2.14) We have constant fellowship , or communion , with God. (1.6) We have regular fellowship with others who are walking in God’s light. (1.7a) We are continually being cleansed of our sins. (1.7b) We are willing to confess our sins. (1.8-10) We are recipients of Christ’s atoning sacrifice for our sins. (2.1-2) We are consistently obedient to God’s commands. (2.3-5) We walk just as Jesus walks. (2.6) We genuinely love our brothers and sisters. (2.7-11) We are forgiven by God. (2.12) We know God – intimately . (2.13a, 13c, 14a) We are able to overcome the wicked one. (2.13b, 14 c) We have the word of God abiding in us. (2.14b) What does walking in the light require? We must take the covers off and expose our life to the verdict of God. We must take the roof off and let the Son shine in. What does God see when all the doors, closets, rooms, and cupboards of our life are open to Him? What about us? Are we truly reflecting the Son? Do we pass the test?

    Reflections of the Son 1 John 1.5 - 2.14

    God is light! (1.5)

    In Him is NO darkness at all!

    Identifying marks of those who are walking in the light (1.6 2.14)

    We have constant fellowship , or communion , with God. (1.6)

    We have regular fellowship with others who are walking in Gods light. (1.7a)

    We are continually being cleansed of our sins. (1.7b)
