OUR PARISH MISSION STATEMENT Holy Spirit is a Eucharistic Community, formed by and in the Holy Spirit, to enable

our Community to come closer to God and to each other. MASS Saturday: 5:00pm Sunday: 8:00am, 10:00am, 12:00noon Weekdays (Monday - Saturday): 9:00am PENANCE Saturday: 4:00 - And by Appointment BAPTISM Baptisms are scheduled for 1:30pm on specific Sundays. Catechesis for parents is required. Please call the Parish Office to register for Catechesis. Baptisms may only be scheduled after attending Catechesis. MARRIAGE You must meet with a priest at least one year beforehand to schedule the date and time of your wedding. The wedding date is finalized only by meeting with the priest. SACRAMENT OF THE SICK Those who are sick, homebound, or in the hospital are a vital part of our Parish family. Please call the Parish Office to arrange for the reception of the Eucharist and Anointing of the Sick.

This week we would like you to keep in your prayers the following high school students who are attending a Christian Leadership Seminar at the Pallottine Teenage Center. They are Elizabeth Bergamini, Caitlin Healy and Gina O’Shaughnessy. We hope they have an interesting, inspiring and grace-filled week. We continue to take the next steps in the development of a Youth Ministry Program for Holy Spirit. We welcome Fr. Jude Samindra Saparamadu, who will join us during the months of July and August. Fr. Jude was born in Sri Lanka; completed theological studies in Rome and returned to his home country to be ordained. He served as assistant parish priest and hospital chaplain for three years until he began teaching Theology at the National Seminary. He went to Rome for additional studies and was appointed to the Staff of the Oblate International Scholasticate and served there as a formator and bursar until June, 2018. After he leaves us here at Holy Spirit, he will return to his newly appointed parish, Christ the King, in the diocese of Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka. Please introduce yourself on your way out of Mass and welcome Fr. Jude. I once again remind you to read the article below regarding the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults. God Bless, Fr. John Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) The program was designed some years ago by the church for adults who seek to become Catholic and

for those already Catholic who need to complete the Sacraments of Holy Communion and Confirmation. We have several catechists who teach in the program. Classes meet twice monthly on Sunday afternoons at 1:30pm in the Parish Activity Center. Classes will begin in the fall. If you or some family member or friend you know would like to receive the Sacraments, please call the Parish Office to register for the classes. Candidates will

receive their Sacraments at the Easter Vigil Mass on Holy Saturday, 2019. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It’s not too late to register for Religious Education classes! Classes begin Tuesday, September 18th, Wednesday, September 12th and Thursday, September 13th. HOLY SPIRIT SENIORS “Cruising the Hudson”

Ship Ahoy!! The Senior boat ride to explore the Hudson River starts at the Peekskill River Front on Wednesday, July 18th, at 10am to 12:30pm. The cost is $30 per person, bag lunch included (ham, turkey sandwiches or veggie wrap, small salad, dessert, soda and water). Reservations are required with checks payable to to Holy Spirit Seniors or cash due by July 13th. Bring your camera and take pictures of our interesting and historic Hudson River.
