Holy Moses!!! Bishop Barres will be the Main Celebrant at the 7:30 am mass on
Sunday, December 4, in St. Patrick Church! What an honor for us!
Oplatki, aka Christmas Wafers, will be available from our Parish Office during business hours, beginning on November 28. The breaking of “Oplatki” is a Central European Christian tradition celebrated in Poland, Lithuania, and Slovakia during Holy Supper. A requested offering of $3 (or a donation of your choice) is asked for each pack of four wafers. The offerings will be given to charity. There is a limited supply so get yours early.
Another tradition is the Blessing of the “Bambinelli”, which will take place at all masses December 17 and 18. Everyone is invited to bring your Baby Jesus from your
Nativity sets to Mass that weekend. This is a beautiful Italian Catholic tradition that we would love to pass on to all of our parishioners.

Christ the King – What does it mean to say Christ is King? Do we give Him our Sundays only, or the whole week? Set aside ten minutes for God. Offer Him the events of your day and say, “Your will be done.” “No servant can serve two masters. He will either hate one or love the other, or be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and [the world]” (Luke 16:13)
Look who’s at it again!!! Hey Kids of All Ages…. we had a great response with our “Take Monsignor on Vacation Contest” that we thought we would try it again. Pick up a Monsignor on a Stick during office hours, and start taking pictures of him during your favorite Advent and Christmas traditions…. making cookies, wrapping gifts, visiting Santa, rigging up the lights, singing Christmas carols, etc. Be creative!! Submit your pictures to the Parish Office either by email ([email protected]) or on our Parish Facebook page or by an actual picture by January 9, 2017. $50 Grand Prize! Stick Monsignors are available now! Each year the Guzick family holds an event in honor of David Guzick, who was killed in a motorcycle accident, when he was hit by an irresponsible, distracted driver. This year their efforts will benefit the St. Patrick Pottsville Area Kitchen. They will be collecting the items including, but not limited to: nonperishable food items, canned goods, kitchen items, cleaning supplies, plastic cups (styrofoam not preferred), toilet paper, iced tea and lemonade mix. Gift cards from Giant, Weis Markets, and Boyer's Food Markets will also be accepted, and are greatly appreciated. A box will be available in the Parish Office until this coming Tuesday, November 22, for your donations. We thank the Guzick family for helping the St. Patrick Pottsville Area Kitchen, which has helped many, many people these past 30 years!
