MUSIC MINISTRY NEEDS YOU! All parishioners are invited to come check out our Music Ministry! Choir rehearsal is Thursdays 7:30pm - 8:30pm in the church. Please join us! No experience needed and commitment to this ministry is flexible. Weekly rehearsals are Thursdays 7:30pm - 8:30pm and an hour before the Mass at which they will sing. For more information, please contact Karen Thorpe at [email protected]

CORNER Here is a reflection from one of our fantastic Music Ministry members. “I am old enough to remember the Latin Mass as a child and I couldn’t wait till Mass was over, then along came the early 1970’s. And English was introduced to the mass and congregational singing became part of the Liturgy. I have enjoyed attending Mass ever since and me nearly 20 years as a member of Saint Joseph’s Choir has been awesome.”

October 11, 2019 marks the 45th Anniversary of Aid for Friends. In conjunction with the anniversary, the name of the organization will change to CARING for FRIENDS. We will continue to serve our current clients and hope to serve more in the future. If anyone knows someone they think could use this service, please contact Ralph at 610-494-4428. Thank you for all you do!

“So you too, when you do all the things which are commanded you, say, ‘We are unworthy slaves; we have done only that which we ought to have done.’” Luke 17:10 The message is clear. A steward is concerned about making a difference, not about having other people know that he or she is making a difference. Our readings today show us that living a stewardship way of life – a life focused on serving God and His Kingdom – is not easy. They also show us that our lives belong to God, not to us. We just need to have faith and commit to our small part in His grand design. This is both our privilege and responsibility as Christian Stewards. Jesus makes this clear in today’s Gospel passage from Luke. When the apostles ask the Lord to increase their faith, He tells them that even a mustard seed-sized faith is all that is needed to move mountains. We need only take the tiniest step forward and He will do the rest. The time, talents and treasure entrusted to us all are God’s. Our very lives belong to Him. Whatever we do on God’s behalf with our lives and our gifts is simply our God-given responsibility. The stewardship way of life makes the privilege and responsibility of serving Christ and His kingdom a reality.

JOURNEY TO SAINTHOOD FR. BILL ATKINSON, OSA

Thursday, October 17th at 6:30PM

Saint Joseph Church will host the journey to Sainthood for Fr. Bill Atkinson, OSA in Donnelly Hall, speakers will be his nurse and caregivers for 25 years, Richard Heron and Mary Moody. This up close and personal look at the process, the present status and the future steps that will lead Fr. Bill Atkinson from servant of God to Blessed and on to Saint. His story, everyday life and those he touched from his wheelchair will give testament that God had a plan for him and he followed it perfectly! Please join us for Fr. Atkinson’s inspiring journey.

October is the month of the Rosary!

We began praying a decade of the rosary this week with the help of Jacob Garrity, Logan Howe and Aidan Misiewicz from Mrs. Wendling's class, RJ Scharrer, Ysabelle DeGuzman and Charlee Smith from Mr. Kokol's class and Charlotte Falcone and Cailyn Melhus from Mrs. Bascelli's class. Sophia Walsh and Eryk Wiktorzak from Mrs. Fratterelli's second level class told us that they learned "about mortal and venial sin." They are getting ready for their First Reconciliation...so exciting! Natalie Barry from Mrs. Caggianno's third level class told us that they learned all about God's creation. Eryn Lex from Mrs. Hunt's first level class told us they learned about prayer like the Hail Mary!

"Wonder is the desire for knowledge." St. Thomas Aquinas 107-2
