WHEN YOU ARE HOSPITALIZED.
Please be aware that there are now
stricter legal and ethical guidelines
regarding, the dissemination of patient, information from
hospitals to churches and clergy. In addition. Today’s
shorter hospital stays make timely pastoral visit difficult at
best. Therefore, if you have occasion to be hospitalized
and desire pastoral support, you or a family member
should do two things. Notify the rectory of the
hospitalization as soon as possible. Also, upon admission
to the hospital you will be asked if you desire to have your
religious affiliation noted as part of your medical record.
Please state both your denomination and parish. If you fail
to do either of the above, your parish priest may have no
way of knowing your needs.
