STEWARDSHIP OPPORTUNITIES Corpus Christi is in need of volunteers to help out with some of our ministries. Please call the office at 701-255-4600 if you are interested in giving of your time to serve Corpus Christi.Livestream Assistance: We are in need of camera operators who would be willing to help us livestream our Masses on Saturdays at 4:00 p.m. and Sundays at 8:30 a.m. Training would be provided.

Ushers and Greeters: We are looking for volunteers to help usher and greet during the weekend Masses once a month. Schedule is flexible. Training would be provided.

Vocation Views: God's commandments lead us on the path of life. What path will you choose to walk? Pray for wisdom. (Exodus 20:1-17)

Stewardship Announcements: We must look upon others through the eyes of God and find the presence of Jesus in them. When we do this, how easy it is to give of our time, talent and treasure in service to others.Marriage Moments: International Women's Day is March 8th. So what's that got to do with your marriage? Hopefully each of you already have times when you take the lead. This day is mainly notable because women were not always valued to lead as much as men. Honor each other today.

Parenting Pointers: We're about halfway through Lent. Has it made any difference to your family? During the pandemic it can seem like each day just merges into the next. It can get boring or tiring. Why not agree to do one common family sacrifice today. Maybe refuse to argue or agree to skip dessert. (www.SusanVogt.net)

Your stepping stones back into life...LOTUS (Looking Onward to Understanding and Serenity) is a group for men, women and young adults who have experienced a death. A few things at the parish I'd like to highlight: This Sunday (March 07) at 2:00 p.m., I encourage you to attend "A Lenten Recital of Psalms" with Dr. Beverly Everett on organ and Tonya Mertz playing oboe. I've heard a sneak peek while Beverly has been practicing and she also highlighted some of the details of this concert on my recent Real Presence Radio show. It is going to be a great concert! Next weekend, our Knights of Columbus council at Corpus Christi will be holding a membership drive; check out this bulletin and plan to sign up next weekend. Lent 2021 continues and we encourage all of you to "Give.Him.21" every day. The pillars of Lent are Prayer, Fasting and Almsgiving. "Zeal for your house will consume me." (From today's Gospel, John 2:17) Consider sharing your treasure with Corpus Christi to assist in our ministries to help the poor. Challenge your chil-dren to give 21¢ a day while you give $21 a week. Or get creative - maybe $1.21, $10.21, $20.21, $120.21 is sacrificial for you. How can you Give.Him.21 today?

2021 AFRICAN MISSION APPEALThis weekend is our 32nd Annual African Mission Appeal. As Catholics, we all have a shared responsibility to sup-port our church's work. David Morman, as he ministers on our behalf to our brothers and sisters in Kisii, Kenya, East Africa. You are encouraged to follow our missionaries in action at: https://www.facebook.com/BismarckCatholicMission. You can drop your donation off in the collec-tion basket or stop by the office.

Sunday, Mar 07, 2021THIRD SUNDAY OF LENT

Balancing actSaint Paul lived in that perilous posture you see in cartooncharacters whose feet are on opposite supports that are swiftlygliding apart. As a privileged Roman citizen of Cilicia (modernTurkey), Paul had one foot firmly planted in the reality of Greco-Roman culture. Yet the other was just as securely fixed in hisJewish faith. It was a tough posture to maintain. Then Paulencountered the Risen Lord and understood in the gospel themost excellent way to unite Jews and Greeks in an elegantlyreconciling Christian message. Christianity is for uniting, notdividing.

TODAY'S READINGS: Year B: Exodus 20:1-17; I Corinthians 1:22-25;John 2:13-25 (29). “Jews demand signs and Greeks look forwisdom, but we proclaim Christ crucified.”

Monday, Mar 08, 2021LENTEN WEEKDAY

Sisters actHow fitting that the first day of Catholic Sisters Week is alsoInternational Women’s Day, celebrating achievements of womenin politics, culture, and society. Catholic sisters have been makingthe world a better place for centuries! By teaching children, healingthe sick, fighting injustice, promoting peace, defending the planet, creating community, and empowering other women, Catholicsisters are a powerful gospel witness—and many of us have beenon the receiving end of their work and prayers. Celebrate sistersthis week—find information and resourcesat catholicsistersweek.org.

TODAY'S READINGS: 2 Kings 5:1-15ab; Luke 4:24-30 (237). “Amen, Isay to you, no prophet is accepted in his own native place.”

Tuesday, Mar 09, 2021MEMORIAL OF FRANCES OF ROME, RELIGIOUS

A religious life for allDuring a week that celebrates Catholic sisters, women religious,we remember an Italian saint who found a way to work and praylike a nun while staying committed to her immediate family. In fact,Frances of Rome—who nursed her sick husband and children, aswell as the poor, during a plague in the 1400s—is commonlycalled a Benedictine oblate. An oblate is anyone who wants toshare in the common vision and prayer of a religious communitywithout officially entering religious life. Explore religiouscommunities at VocationNetwork.org.

TODAY'S READINGS: Daniel 3:25, 34-43; Matthew 18:21-35 (238). “Letour sacrifice be in your presence today as we follow youunreservedly.”

Wednesday, Mar 10, 2021LENTEN WEEKDAY

Love will change the world“Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.” Thisquote belongs to Harriet Tubman, who died on this day in 1913.This courageous woman, who escaped the chains of slavery andthen led hundreds of slaves to freedom, reminds us that no matterthe odds, no matter the restrictions, God gives us strength to reachfor the stars and become the Love we were created to be. On thismid-March day, in the third week of Lent, perhaps we could use a

little encouragement to keep reaching for the stars as we respondto our Lenten call to love as God loves. Take one courageous steptoward racial healing today.

TODAY'S READINGS: Deuteronomy 4:1, 5-9; Matthew 5:17-19 (239).“But whoever obey and teaches these commandments will becalled greatest in the kingdom of heaven.”

Thursday, Mar 11, 2021LENTEN WEEKDAY

Stretch your heartOne year ago this week, COVID-19 began to seriously disruptlives in North America. During this tumultuous year, everyone hassuffered, whether from isolation, illness, unemployment, or anotherpandemic problem. Pope Francis has urged us to grow from theseexperiences: “If we are to come out of this crisis less selfish thanwhen we went in, we have to let ourselves be touched by others’pain,” he wrote. Has COVID-19 stretched your heart? Whetheryou give to a food pantry or call a shut-in, act on your compassiontoday.

TODAY'S READINGS: Jeremiah 7:23-28; Luke 11:14-23 (240). “Everykingdom divided against itself will be laid waste and house will fallagainst house.”

Friday, Mar 12, 2021LENTEN WEEKDAY; DAY OF ABSTINENCE

Abstinence makes the heart grow fonderAs we practice Lenten abstinence today, we might keep in mindthese words from fourth-century Saint Basil the Great: “True fast isthe estrangement from evil, temperance of tongue, abstinencefrom anger, separation from desires, slander, falsehood, andperjury. Privation of these is true fasting.” Being mindful of whatgoes into our mouths is important today, but being mindful of whatcomes out of them, even more so. Strive to abstain from theunkind, false, or hostile word today. And if you find you havebroken the fast, make amends as best you can. Let this be yourspiritual discipline today.

TODAY'S READINGS: Hosea 14:2-10; Mark 12:28-34 (241). “You arenot far from the kingdom of God.”

Saturday, Mar 13, 2021LENTEN WEEKDAY

Pray the mercy mantraGregory Palamas, a saint of the Eastern Orthodox, Melkite, andUkrainian Catholic Churches, taught that the use of the JesusPrayer—“Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, asinner”—prepares one to receive the grace-filled light of the Lord. This short, formulaic prayer has its roots in today’s parable of thePharisee and the Tax Collector. Saint John Paul II repeatedly citedPalamas as one of the great spiritual writers of history. Today, joinwith John Paul II and Palamas in heaven and the multitude ofCatholics throughout the world who recite this spiritual mantra overand over again seeking the Lord’s mercy.
