Our Mission:

Our mission is to be a People of Prayer, Purpose, Agreement and Ministry.

PURPOSEWe are a people of Purpose. We have been sent to spread the good news of the Gospel to all peoples in all nations, of every culture, of all ages and economic situation. And the gospel must first be preached to all nations. (Mark 13:10)

PRAYERWe are a people of Prayer. We pray that the Spirit of the Lord rest, reign and rule throughout the world. We will stand in the gap and pray when nations fail, powers fail and riches fail. We pray God's Kingdom come and His will be done on the earth.

If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. (2 Chronicles 7:14)

AGREEMENTWe are a people of Agreement. We shall build the International Harvest Dome as a house of new beginnings, restoration and total life prosperity to all who heed the word of God. We agree that social and economic redevelopment shall be evident in every area that our church represents. We agree to be laborers in the Kingdom of God effecting change to this nation and beyond.

And the LORD said, "Behold, they are one people, and they have all one language; and this is only the beginning of what they will do; and nothing that they propose to do will now be impossible for them. Genesis 11:6

MINISTRYWe are people of Ministry. We know that ministry is finding the need and meeting it. We will build transitional housing for ex-offenders, shelters for displaced teenagers, senior housing for low and fixed income elderly. We will open a career resource center to empower men and women to take care of themselves and their families. We will finance and help finance low income housing. We will distribute food and clothing to the poor.By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be my disciples. John 15:8

What We Believe:Of the Scriptures:

We believe the Holy Bible was written divinely by men but inspired by god. They are a perfect treasure of heavenly instructions and truth without any mixture or error and they also reveal the principles by which god will judge us, and therefore is and shall remain until the end of the world, the true center of Christian unity, and the ultimate standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and opinions should be established.

Of the True God:

We believe there is one and only one living and true God – an intelligent, spiritual and personal being. He is the Creator, preserver, and ruler of the universe. God is completely infinite in His holiness, wisdom and all other perfections to which we owe the highest love, reverence and obedience to. He is revealed to us as the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit, each with distinct personal attributes; but, without division of nature, essence, and/or being.

Of the Fall of Man:

We believe man was created by the special act of God, as recorded in genesis. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them (Genesis 1:27). And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living temptation of Satan, he transgressed the command of God and fell from his original righteousness.

Of the Way of Salvation:

We believe the salvation of sinners is wholly of grace, through the recognition and confession of Jesus Christ who by the Holy Spirit was born of the Virgin Mary and took upon Him our nature yet without sin. His personal obedience crated physical, emotional and spiritual atonement for our sins by His death. We believe the blessings of salvation are made free to all by the gospel. It is the duty of all to accept them by the measure of faith as given. Nothing prevents the salvation of the greatest sinner except his own voluntary refusal to accept Jesus Christ as Teacher, Savior, and Lord. After being risen from the dead, He is now enthroned in Heaven on the right hand side of God as petitioner for the believers. He is in every way qualified to be a compassionate and all sufficient Savior.

Of Grace in New Birth:

We believe in the New Birth and that is a change of heart inspired by the Holy Spirit, whereby we become partakers of the divine nature of God. We believe that holiness is achieved through the New Birth which leads to love, forgiveness and the practice of righteousness. We also believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues as one of the nine supernatural gifts of the Holy Spirit and as expressed in Acts 2:4, when said , “And they were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit of God gave them utterance.” We believe that speaking in tongues is simply no more than spiritual conversations

between the spiritual realm and the natural.

Of Repentance:

We believe repentance is inseparable with the grace of God and His acceptance of our repentance and the displaying of His forgiveness towards us. As believers that may fall, we are deeply convinced of our guilt, danger, and helplessness, and of the way of salvation by Christ that we turn to God with contrition, confession, and supplication for mercy promising to avoid the fall again. And the loving God we serve grants us with His never denying love at the same time as we heartily receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our prophet, priest, and king, and relying on Him alone as the one and only and all sufficient Savior.

Of the Gods Purpose of Grace:

We believe Grace is the purpose of God according to how He has delivered, sanctified, and saved sinners. He does not interfere with the salvation of an individual; but, through Grace, God displays His sovereign goodness, His infinite wisdom and how His holiness never changes.

Of Sanctification:

We believe sanctification is the process by which according to the will of God, we are privileged partakers of his holiness and rulership. As believers we walk in sanctification with the continuation of self examination, self denial, and watchfulness. We believe that we are lead by the Holy Sprit and kept by the Comforter through sanctification.

On the Christian Sabbath:

We believe the first day of the week is to be offered symbolically as the first fruit and that is the fact the Lord’s Holy Day or Christian Sabbath, and is to be kept sacred for purposes of worship, service fellowship and Christian enhancements. We believe that our mid-week service is the indescribable extras of God, believing that we can serve and worship Him on any day and at any time, and He can hear our prayers and

worship as He blesses us any day and at any time.

Of Stewardship:

We believe God is the source of all blessings, temporal and spiritual; all that we have and are we owe to him. We have a spiritual debtorship to the whole world, and holy trusteeship to the gospel, and a binding stewardship to our possessions. We are, therefore, under the obligation to serve Him with our time, talents, and material possessions. We should recognize that all of these are trusted to us to use for the glory of God and helping others. We believe that as stewards of God’s blessings, we have been called to be Kingdom Financers to finance the Kingdom of God through our stewardship and financial blessings.

On Evangelism and Missions:

We believe it is the duty of every Christian man and woman, and the duty of every Church of Christ to seek to extend the gospel to the outer end of the earth. Missionary efforts are a spiritual necessity of the New Birth life it is the duty of every child of God to seek constantly to win the lost to Christ by personal efforts and by other methods sanctioned by the gospel of Christ. We believe that we are called to speak to the Nations and that every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that He is Lord, and until that time, we will pursue the harvest of lost souls.

Of the Resurrection:

We believe the Scriptures clearly teach that Jesus rose from the dead. His grave was emptied of its contents. He appeared to the disciples after His resurrection in many convincing manifestations. The purpose of his death was to bring a complete reconciliation (atonement). We are able to live in health (physical), dominionship and salvation on earth (spiritual), have peace in our minds and around us (emotional) and be who God has originally called us to be; all through His death and

resurrection.

On the Return of the Lord:

We believe the New Testament teaches in many places the visible and personal return of Jesus to this earth. “This same Jesus who is taken up from you into heaven shall so come in like manner as you have seen Him go into heaven”. (Acts 1:11) “The time of His coming is not revealed. Of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.” (Matthew 24:36). We as believers are preparing and are in readiness for His coming and are diligently ministering to all men the reality of the soon coming of Jesus Christ the Savior.

Of Faith:

We believe that every man upon receiving salvation from God is given a measure of faith. At that point it is up to us as believers to grow, cultivate, entice, ignite and incorporate that faith with all that we do in our life. Everything about God is endowed and connected to faith, and with faith believers have a special tool that separates them from all the worries, doubt, concerns, anger and lies that the non-believer has to face on a daily basis.

How is Salvation Defined?

Salvation has been defined as: Deliverance from danger or evil, especially from anything that separates us from God.

You may also have heard Salvation referred to as saved, born again, or redeemed. These words are heard often by “believers” to identify themselves as people who have salvation in Jesus Christ.

What Does the Bible say about Salvation?

Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace you have been saved through faith and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone boast.”

Romans 5:6 & 8” For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly……But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Salvation Is a Matter Of: GRACE

It is IMPOSSIBLE to get into heaven on our own. Ephesians 2:8-9: “By grace you are saved through faith, and this is not from yourselves: it is God’s gift – not from works, so that no one can boast.”

G…… stands for GOD

God is the beginning of GRACE. In fact, he is the beginning of all things. (Genesis 1:1) Because God is our loving Creator and Ruler, we are responsible to love, worship

and obey him alone. (Mathew 22: 37-38).

R……. stands for REBELLION

Clearly, all of us fall short of God’s perfect standard (Romans 3:23). We are all sinners, both by nature and by choice (Romans 5:12, 1 John 1:8)

A…….stands for ATONEMENT

Atonement means “to repair a broken relationship”. God, because of his great love for his creation, sent his Son, Jesus into the world so that sinners may be reconciled to God. (John 3:16, Romans 5:1).

By his life, Jesus attained righteousness on sinners’ behalf. By his death, Jesus paid the penalty that sinners owed. By his resurrection, Jesus defeated death for all who will follow him.

C……. stands for CONVERSION

To receive Jesus as Saviour and Lord, we must trust in him alone for salvation (John 14:6; Acts 4:12).

And we must turn from our sins (repent) and turn to him in love and obedience (Luke 13:3; John 14:15; Acts 17:30).

God’s GRACE comes to those who receive Jesus by faith (John 1:12; Acts 16:31; Romans 1:16; 10:9, 13).

E…..stands for ETERNAL LIFE

Jesus brings new life to all who place their faith in him (John 10:10; 2 Corinthians 5:17). This wonderful gift of eternal life is given to all those who have been saved through faith in Jesus.

Characteristics of Salvation:

1. We are new creatures!“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation: old things have passed away; behold all things have become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17

“…that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind and that you put on the “new man” which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.” Ephesians 4:22-24

2. We love one another!“Jesus said to them, If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and came from God: …” John 8:42

3. We lay sin aside & desire the Word of God!“ Therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy and all evil speaking, as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you my grow thereby; if indeed you have tasted that the Lords is gracious.:” 1 Peter 2:1-3

Sanctification:

What does it mean to be sanctified?

To sanctify means 'to make holy’.

Things are sanctified when they are used for the purpose God intends. A human being is sanctified, therefore, when he or she lives according to God's design and purpose God calls human beings to be holy; as he is holy (Lev. 11: 44; Matt. 5: 48; I Pet. 1: 15, 16).

"Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate. Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach" (Heb. 13: 12, 13).

"15: I pray not that thou should take them out of the world, but that thou should keep them from the evil. 16: They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. 17: Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. 18: As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world? 19: And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth" (Jn. 17: 15-19).

Characteristics of Sanctification:

We are set apart for spiritual service.

"1: I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.. Romans 12: 1 Christians are to "…sanctify the Lord God in your hearts" (I Pet. 3: 15). God must be set apart in the heart of the Christian, rendered distinct and allowed to spiritually influence.

We are “in” the world but are not “of” the world.

In (Jn. 15: 19) Jesus stresses the importance of his people being separate from the world or sanctified. “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." Romans 12: 2

Basic Guidelines of Christian Living: Seek First God's Kingdom

An essential and basic pursuit of the Christian is found in Jesus' words, "But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness…" (Matt. 6: 33).

Obey God's Commandments Out of Love

"For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments," wrote John, "and his commandments are not grievous" (I Jn. 5: 3). Jesus said, "If ye love me, keep my commandments" and "He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loves me…" (Jn. 14: 15, 21, 24)

Control Your Tongue and Use Pure Speech

"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things" (Phili. 4: 8).

Maintain Respectful Conduct That is Pleasing to God

The new creature's general demeanor is reflective of one who has been with Christ (Acts 4: 13). He (she) does not dress immodestly, laugh at or tell obscene jokes, watch filthy movies, fornicate, or disobey civil law (I Tim. 2: 9; Eph. 5: 4; I Cor. 6: 18; Rom. 13: 1-7). Such a life of uprightness is not a result of mechanical, legalistic service, but springs out of "putting on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness" (Eph. 4: 25).

(I Corinthians 12:1-31) “But now God has placed the members, each one of them, in the body, just as He desired.

The Fellowship of the Believers

Stewardship:

What is stewardship?

The word steward or stewardship can be defined as:

A person employed to manage another’s property ….

An overseer.

A trust granted for profitable use.

A Christian steward can be described as : A believer who has been charged with the management of the Lord’s property. (This includes our talents and our resources.)

Christian Stewardship Involves Responsible Management of OUR:

For these areas we must simply obey what God has commanded in his word.

TREASURES (Financial Resources)

(Proverbs 3:9 & 10) “HONOR the Lord with your possessions. And with the first fruits of all your increase, so your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will overflow with new wine.”

(Malachi 3:8) Will a man rob God? Yet ye robbed me. But ye say, where have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings and it’s imperative that you pay your tithing so you can receive the blessing of the Lord. We trust God and obey his Word in that our tithe represents a tenth part, especially offered to God.

Other Foundational Principles:

Baptism

What is baptism?

Baptism is a submersion.

Is an outward/public representation to the world of our commitment to Jesus Christ as our Saviour and Lord.

We are baptized because it is an “external act” that demonstrates and acknowledges the “internal reality” of our identification with Jesus in His death, burial and resurrection.

Is NOT what saves us. At the moment of salvation, the Holy Spirit baptizes every believer into Jesus Christ. It is then that we become members of His body. To that end, the Bible confirms this in the following scriptures:

(Romans 6:3) 3 or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?

(Galatians 3:27) 27 for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.

(Ephesians 5:30) 30 for we are members of his body.

NOTE: This brief overview elaborates on our belief in the foundation of baptism.

Communion:

What is communion?

Commemorates the Lords’ Supper.

Was a continuation or substitute for the Passover.

Is a symbolic recognition of Jesus Christ’s death on the cross.

(1 Corinthians 11:23-26) Unleavened bread was a memorial of the broken body; the wine of his blood which signified Jesus Christ’s sacrificial death for mankind’s sin.

Then he took the bread, said the blessing, broke it, and gave it to them, saying, "This is my body, which will be given for you; do this in memory of me." (Luke 22:19)

As a church body, we observe the Lord’s Supper on the first Sunday of the month.

NOTE: This brief overview elaborates on our belief in the foundation of The Lord’s Supper.

A more in depth study of the subject of communion will be covered in Sunday School and Bible Study. For specific questions not covered in class, please feel free to ask for further elaboration from our Pastors or another member of the ministerial staff.

Dear Brother and Sister in Christ:

The goal of today’s class was to provide you with a solid affirmation of your salvation and assurance of your place in God’s kingdom because of your decision to accept Christ as your Lord and Savior. This is the first and most important part of what it means to be a Christian.

Great care has been taken to design a course that provides you with a solid foundation of our church background and beliefs, our mission and the guiding biblical principles we uphold.

We applaud your commitment in completing this important step in membership and look forward to you actively joining us as we build believers to build the body of Christ.

It is our prayer that the results of your spiritual gifts assessment, has provided you with more clarity as to how your God given gifts and talents can be used here in our church. We strongly encourage you to find your purpose and get involved today. A list of ministries and an application is attached. A member of our team will be collecting them at the conclusion of today’s class.

Finally, there is a course feedback form that is also included as an attachment. We invite you to complete it and return it so that we can look for ways that we can make
