Having it all is not about striving for perfection, or about living our lives according to someone else’s standards

or expectations (we’ve done that for far too long).

It’s not about working ourselves to a state of exhaustion, spreading ourselves too thin, or trading inner peace and

contentment for outer trinkets of success.

Been there. Done that too.

Having it all simply means having access to all of yourself, in any moment you choose it, and in every

aspect of life that is important to you.

Go here to learn exactly how you too, can “Have it All”’

4 Questions With Christy WhitMan

C: I would like to ask you how do you define having your all in your life?

Marianne Williamson: well first of all my deepest condolences about your sister. I had lost a sister as well. Now to have lost a

sister to suicide I can’t even imagine the trauma that would’ve been in your life I’m very sorry about that. It’s an honor to think that I even played a small part in your recovery and you are moving through your grief. Of course the whole idea of our deepest fear it is interesting about that paragraph becoming so well-known because it’s simply in my book Return to Love, it was not a separate section or poem that so it’s quite a mystery how that one paragraph got taken out and interpreted to Nelson Mandela and all of that. But I understand not only with that paragraph but with so much of the book why people are enthusiastic about it because all of those are principles from A Course In Miracles, that book is my reflection on the principles of A Course In Miracles and that principle that we are more afraid of our light than our darkness is like every other major principle in the course. If you think about it, it makes sense because the ego mind which is the mind that believes that we are limited and we are nothing more than our bodies and that we are very powerless compared to all these other extraordinary powers that surround us that mind which in the course is called the ego, doesn’t want us to recognize our unlimited spirits. Because in the mind in the moment we remember who we are we also remember who we are not. So in the moment of understanding we are part of a light which is God which is the universe which is this unlimited oceanic love in that moment the ego disappears. The ego mind is marshaled against the remembrance of our greatness. Because to the ego that is – the ego is afraid if I realize who I am in the greatness that I lived with and may not that I could take personal credit for but it lives within me as it lives within everyone else than that moment is a moment of ego death. So the ego mind said I can’t go there I will die that’s because it will die. That’s the whole concept of you were born to greatness of who you are and what better week to be discussing that than Christmas. So this idea of people realizing that we play small and some time through a false modesty because it’s true sometimes you get more applause for being small than truly being everything you could be because other people who also are playing small feel more comfortable if you play small. And if you truly say I am going to go for the next step in my

possibility, if I’m going to step it up, if I’m going to truly expand my energy into what I know is possible into my life, there will be those who will not want to applaud you. Because your very presence will remind them that they can be doing it, too. On the other hand there are people who you do not know now, the ones who do make that step; it’s like they’re on the other side of the shore waiting for you. So I think it’s interesting that paragraph has got so much attention because it’s clearly a universal experience that all of us are having which is am I willing to die who I was before I could be who I can be. Well I think most of the time when people are writing books about you can’t have it all it’s usually just saying you can’t have it all right now and that’s not an illegitimate conversation. From a spiritual perspective having and being is the same thing you can have whatever you are willing to be. And that goes back to the whole issue of our deepest fear is you won’t energetically within yourself allow yourself and experience unlimited possibility for your lifetime whatever you see as impossible because you have deemed it not okay, you will subconsciously undermine, you won’t let yourself have it. So your state of being that you allow yourself will determine what you have and it will also determine what you don’t have.

C: What’s the core belief that you hold to be true either about yourself or the universe for you to really experience your

life where you are really having it all?

Marianne Williamson: that God wishes to use all of us. That none of us are indispensable but that none of us are, in our essence,

are limited in any way. That we are all program for greatness that every cell is programmed in the body to collaborate with every other cell. To promote the healthy functioning of the whole. And you are similarly programmed to be the best that you can be and I’m program to be the best that I can be so that we can collaborate and support the healthy functioning of the whole. Everything is better if you become all that you can be. Everything is better for you and everything is better for me because there is no limited pie here. In the spiritual world, it’s not like you have them there is less for me rather the higher vibration you are at higher vibration we can play at. You can call me to your highest I call you to your highest and synergistically we can both go higher. Now when you believe in a spiritual source you believe that that programming has nothing to do with you personally. God does his part and we are held to ours. So our job is to say yes. Our job is

to be willing to carry that pregnancy. To allow so that what we have said yes to that, that there is no force that can abstract the flow in the extension of that power and then it is just up to us whether or not we are channeling our excellent our compassion our own potential greatness. So I see it as just as I see a cell with a natural guidance system body. I see each of us with the natural guidance system that’s why we are to pray we are to meditate that’s why daily meditation did you get a copy of my book? A Year of Miracles. It’s daily prayers and devotion the more you ground yourself in spirit the higher you can fly in the world. It’s counterintuitive but the key to being powerful in the world is to know that you are not of this world and that’s how it works.

C: So when you’re in that state, in that present moment and you really feel like you do have it all, can you just describe

what it is of that essence of how you feel?

Marianne Williamson: love. The course in miracles says love is beyond what can be defined this course does not aim at teaching

the meaning for love because love is beyond what can be defined but it does aim at removing the barriers to the awareness of love’s presence. And so that’s the issue. The issue is being in a space which words can’t name that you know in any situation whether you are being generous or holding to possibility for living in the present or in the past or the future you know these things. We can feel these things. In that sense the mystery is not mysterious there are principles to live by in my acting from my strength or my weakness? Am I acting from my healed place or from my wounded place which aspect of myself and my bringing forward in this moment?

C: What is one tip so others can feel that essence in their lives?

Marianne Williamson: I think to always ask for what we are not forgiving. To always ask what we are not giving in any

situation. And to meditate and pray.
