religions, in 1997 the population was 36% Buddhist, 25% Muslim, 18% Christian, and 21% other religions. The Island speaks mainly English.
Geography and Environment
The Island has a tropical climate which makes it very hot. Luckily there are trade winds that keep the temperature pleasant. There are steep cliffs along the coast of the Island. It is located by Southeastern Asia.
Health There are many viruses in the area were
Christmas Island is located. When people take trips there they have to be extremely careful to not catch any thing. And if the do get something then they have to tell their doctor how they think they got it.
Society People on Christmas Island have a lot to
do. They can go out on the sea and fish for work, they can mine Phosphate, and they will own stores and shops for tourists and citizens.
How do the patterns of land use and economic livelihoods reflect the conditions of the physical environment of your Oceania country? They don’t use very much of their land
for economy, it is mostly tropical jungle. Since they can’t really use the land on the Island they mostly use the ocean for fishing and collecting the famous Red Crab that lives there. The people that live there have adapted to fit there needs.
